Our kids and their spouses will be here Wednesday evening. We’re doing a spatchcock turkey on the smoker. This will be our 3rd bird this way. It’s our favorite way too do a turkey anymore.
We’re doing a different twist this year on it, instead of mustard as a binder we‘re using dukes mayonnaise as it holds the juice in better and also works as a binder for the seasoning.
Wife has been prepping portions of the meal a little early as too not be as rushed when they show up, plus our grandson can get more attention from grandma 😂. She made the cranbe sauce this morning and the pies are just about done, as well as the cookies. Was outside burning rush and then pressure washed the house afterwards, when I walked into the house I was floored by the smells. Man I love this time of year 😂

Anyways, y’all post up what’s on the menu and what’s in store for thanksgiving.

Both kids are married off this spring and at the respective in-laws for this one. I got Mooch's dry fry and mine and will go volunteer at our local towns watering hole, "Stripes" where a local church and the ower Rob put on a free feed for anyone that would like a Thanksgiving meal. Thrid year for me, in 6. I IR cook 4 turkeys, other guys, about 10 deep fryers, cook about 20-25 birds... all the fixings are in Robs restaurant.

The Mrs just got sworn in this AM for her next 4 year hitch in public office.

Both our families will be over on Thanksgiving day. In-laws are doing a turkey, my parents are bringing noodles. I'll do a ham, green beans, taters, corn, rolls, and some munchies beforehand. My side of the family is getting together on Friday as used to be tradition before COVID. I'm smoking 3 spatchcocked chickens for that. My wife and the girls are baking a host of goodies. I fully intend on eating and drinking like a king for several days straight!

Both grandmas want to see their grandchildren so one for lunch and one for dinner so no cooking for me this year . But on Saturday I'm throwing a big garage party for the game kraut dogs with this year's kraut we made , coney dogs , sausages, loaded jalapeno and cheese nachos, bottomless tub of Busch light . Tub and warmers in place already and a commercial hot dog roller I picked up recently . Have a happy Thanksgiving everyone
