If not Vinton, any thoughts for a different location? I’m not keenly in tune with how badly that area was affected by EHD
Can't get much more central than Alum Creek and/or Delaware Wildlife Area. I am not sure about their winter camping possibilities. But they are also in close proximity to each other offering more area. Could camp at one and hunt both. I'd be more than happy to offer areas where I have seen deer/had success/am familiar with. For Alum, south of 36/37 is off limits to guns.

What’s this looking like @bowhunter1023 gonna shoot for Saturday?

Yes, and yes.

Will kids that are willing to hike and put some miles on be okay to bring?

Most certainly.

I did ask around about Vinton and I think the responsible thing to do is avoid it. Woodbury, WNF Athens, or AEP would be better choices. We've done AEP in the past and had success doing so. I'm impartial. If you're going to attend and have a preference, let us know what it is and we'll try and land on a concensus.

I'm also impartial and this will be more about the fellowship and hunting than any success in my intention.

I'm very familiar with the Egypt Valley Wildlife area and there are areas we can do a few drives in but i haven't hunted the in a decade so i dunno what the deer population is like and i know that area gets hit by the amish.
