I find this funny, but it's funnier that I saw on the FB page of an old OS member who hates Ohio State so bad, that as much of his identity is tied to OSU's level of success as most fans. It cracks me up. He is literally as invested in the Buckeyes as a big time fan, just with hate. I know the gate swings both ways and think it's equally funny when OSU fans are the same with TTUN. I want UM to win every game, every year except one, and still consider "Fuck Michigan" to be an appropriate comment.
Speaking of choking, anyone see that Alabama game?
Didn’t mean to sound like I was putting all of the blame on the kicker but no one will be as hard on him than himself. That kick was shanked so bad he’d have missed it from the 10. LolDon’t blame it on the kicker. That was one play out of many that could’ve changed how it ended up. Why didn’t CJ get 7 or get the ball closer for a chip shot. Or why did they give up 17 in the 4th quarter? What if the bulldogs didn’t miss the 3 field goals? Plenty of plays could’ve changed the outcome. But it is what it is.
I must say we got our moneys worth out of the playoff games and was fun to watch. I still feel the same way tho, fuck Ohio st!
It's gonna take more than one game to do that man. They just showed everyone they were capable of pulling it together for an entire game and playing all 4 quarters.
This is also because Ohio has been a massive talent exporter for 40 years due in large part to the very THE Ohio State. I get your point, but go back one generation and I bet those #s are higher. One could argue if Ohio's economy had been stronger in the 80s and 90s, we'd have a better talent pool for everything from football, to welding, to teachers, and so on.Last night while watching games and shooting the breeze, several of the Ohio State fans kept referring to the Buckeyes as "we". Which is fine I have no problem with fans identifying and feeling a strong connection with their team. I did ask "How many players you think are from Ohio on the field right now?" One guy said at least half, 5 of the 22 starters on O and D were from Ohio. This is sort of depressing as Ohio once had a very strong high school football tradition. Obviously this is due to several factors, economic expansion of the south and south west being the biggest. I wonder what would happen if the NCAA would require each school to recruit half of their scholarship kids (85 schollys total) from their home state or within certain radius.
I was thinking more of the lines that O State might be under recruiting their home state, I feel like (feelings arent facts, so i could be wrong) Tressel's first national championship team was mostly Ohio kids and he recruited the state hard with all his teams that went to major bowls. But to your point my college coaches would say amount of recruits from an area typically is a good indicator of the shape of the economy. This is also because Ohio has been a massive talent exporter for 40 years due in large part to the very THE Ohio State. The Big Ten is getting stronger.
the SEC is no longer being dominated by Alabama due to GA, Clemson and others spreading out the recruits (imo).
Y'all been saying that for the last 15 years. Still the same old OSU and the same ole BIG 10. You've always been good at recruiting and usually tail right behind Bama. It's using that talent effectively that matters and year after year that has yet to be seen. The big 10 itself is still a joke. OSU only has to really beat one team per season and that's Michigan, the rest of the big 10 is full of never gonna amount to anythings.
It's the SEC. While Alabama has the longest run they have far from "dominated". The power dynamic fluctuates constantly in the SEC and making it through a season usually isn't easy, especially not like it is in the Big 10. Florida, LSU, Georgia, Auburn, and Alabama have all won national titles in the 15 years, many of them multiple titles. If you would have told me 4 years ago that Georgia would win a title and have a shot at back-to-back titles, I would have laughed, but I also know shit like that happens in the SEC. Now if I told you today that in 4 years Purdue or Penn St was going to do the same, everyone knows there's not a snowball's chance in hell of that happening.

I’ll continue to beat a dead horse - majority of Ohio states talent is from the south or sun belt and all the major bowl games are played there, I vote we call the playoff the southern/sun belt bowl series.
Southern schools are set up different, much larger “mega schools”, a lot more one sport specialization. There’s pro’s and con’s, it definitely helps with competing and getting kids college ready, a lot kids don’t get opportunity to participate because of the talent level. The coaching at these schools are great, but at the few small schools southern states have, the coaching sucks and huge drop off. Ohio’s probably got the best smaller school football in the nation. But overall the south now owns footballYou know how important football is in the south. Our town has a population of 18,000 and has 1,864 high school students. They just completed a new 5.4 million dollar football stadium.

Michigan definitely were the biggest losers. Michigan had every catastrophic mistake possible to lose that game. Completely shit to bed against a half-assed team.I find this funny, but it's funnier that I saw on the FB page of an old OS member who hates Ohio State so bad, that as much of his identity is tied to OSU's level of success as most fans. However, after the result of both games yesterday, just read the box scores and you tell me what program stole the losers spotlight last night
Half assed school? Come on man.Michigan definitely were the biggest losers. Michigan had every catastrophic mistake possible to lose that game. Completely shit to bed against a half-assed team.
