On Nov 15 we tracked this deer about a 1/2 mile total. Great blood but trail showed he was still chasing the doe (tight circles). Hunter had a hard time believing that the deer was still alive. Couple days ago he finally showed backup on trail camera. I told this young man you shoot that deer I'll track it for free.... And the Chase now continues.....
This is like 16 deer back on cam after tracking. Most had lots of blood too.

Many people do not realise how far the backbone dips at the shoulder. Many shots above the spine bleed a lot but are not fatal. The legs/shoulders in panic mode create bubbles that do not come from the lungs. Brite red blood is often a dead give-a-way.
That's why I always aim center mass of the boiler room... Put an arrow through both lungs and he may run 100 yds. but you'll always find a dead deer...
