I’m with @jagermeister on all of this. I can promise if they move gun season earlier - guys would complain “it’s too hot and deer didn’t move”.
the only thing I don’t agree with is the genetic manipulation it might cause to the herd. A deer and it’s genetic makeup is the same at 1 as it is at 4. Assuming the breeding is relatively the same from 2-4, as for frequency - the genetics in the herd aren’t going to change. Simply the generic expression % of the buck doing the breeding is shown differently.

all that to say, when you look at all these moving parts - regulations at the state level for blanket management is damn hard. Imo.
