He won't last long.
Idk, I think he's safe from me. The last 2 years I've seen him almost every hunt. He loves that little area. I've said he was special since his first rack. I won't be upset of one of these guys put him in a truck, but I don't think I'll do it. I've been eyeing that wide one for a couple of years. I think he's what I'm looking for if I don't double up with Levi and @Wildlife

Levi was drilling me with questions and got all excited. So we basically ran to the truck. He was dressed from school and I was dressed from running around. We didn't care. We had to go. Started by scouting in the truck. Where we seen a healthy doe and fawn.

That wasn't cutting it so we went just inside the woods. Heard a young buck grunting close, but didn't see him until we walked out. Also had a donkey sized doe come in on us. She was on sketch 110%. Guessing she could smell us but not see us. #camoisstupit

I got a little upset with myself for not taking Levi hunting. I could've winterized the camper in the rain. Could've got shit together for work during the rain. Everything I did today could've been done another day. He asked and I was busy. So he grabbed the 22 and went looking for tree rats.

5 minutes later he was sending me pictures of deer.

So I waited for the deer to wander off, grabbed the crossbow and tripod and snuck into the blind with him. Deer came and went multiple times. I think it was 2 different does and fawns that kept taking turns. One doe is nice...real nice. But we talked about it and made the choice to hold off a couple of weeks.

Brock managed to make him smile by making fun of me. Go figure😂

Fun was had, deer seen. I may have even learned a lesson.

First pic was my morning sit. Right in the woods outside the corner of a CRP field.
Nothing seen but was good to be in da woods.

afternoon sit was again in the akerns. Just a different patch of oaks. Had a button buck come through about sunset. He acted like a dog with the zoomies. He came from behind my right side. Full speed run (not leaping) right past me about 10 yards away. Ran past me for about 60 yards and turned on a dime like a barrel horse. Ran right past my left side at about 6 feet. Cross bow was in my hands but he was freaky fast. 🤣🤣🤣

Things I forgot this morning.

Wallet
Cams to deploy
Pen
Shit tickets

Seen 3 does and 2 bucks from the truck. Drove around the block to find a parking lot of hikers and some people doing work on the land. Wind wasn't what they called for. Total show of someone who has no clue what they're doing. I've got a couple of doctors appointments to handle, then I might go out for the evening. Or I might join Nicky around the campfire for steaks and beer.
