Gotta love it when mushroom hunters come fumble fucking by your treestand at prime time of deer movement 🙃 that was last evening.

Made my drive out to a small parcel of public, walked all the way in, just to discover the wind is swirling unbelievably bad. If this was 5 years ago I probably would’ve said fugg it and sent it, but not now. So here I sit in my truck, bummed and in my briefs because I shouldn’t have walked so fast with a light base layer on. Have a free evening now so I’m either gonna waste more gas and drive around with the binos or go fish. Hunting is dumb 😂

Surprisingly saw way more deer than I anticipated. Small buck and what I think was a doe and one of her young ones and bumped 2 more on my way out. Shoulda stuck the mature doe, but it was the last 15 min and light faded fast and I surely did not want to mistake the spike for a doe haha

Well took both kids tonight and it almost worked out. He just needed to go left or right for one of them to get a shot. But he walked straight away I was the only one who had a shot and looking back I should of just shot him lol. We left the bow in the blind and were gonna slide in before Cooper goes to school and if we're lucky he will be skipping the rest of the day after sticking him.

Hope it goes down like that!

🦌 scrape opened up overnight, plus we've got the ideal wind, also has the look & feel of 🦌 iness around here.

Good luck to anyone that gets out this evening!

Should've stayed busy in the workshop. Rain rolled in about 15 minutes after the previous post and stuck around for an hour, then stopped momentarily before the actually front arrived. Then it got real windy. Got down a tad early after seeing two antlerless out bow range stroll out the south field heading towards the feed site, or cruising NE into the woods. Nothing showed up yet on TC at the site.

This isn’t live of course but I had my very first sit tonight and even better it was on our own farm in SE Ohio. Checked a few cards, did some pruning then climbed up into the stand that had the best advantage with the south wind I we had there. I was up in the stand at 4:15 and had deer action under me and near me from 4:45 till 15 minutes before I climbed down just before 7. Saw 7-8 different deer but all were does and younger ones with a few being bb’s. Made for an exciting hunting and much of it happened inside 10 yards while they ate acorns for 1.5-2 hours. Lol With that many eyeballs it made it hard to move much. Here’s some pics. Even heard some vocalization early on with some of the young ones bawling and momma bleating.
