Well now we have ourselves a situation. Shot one just after my last update. Definite hit at 30 yds. He stood there for 5 minutes before walking 20 yards and bedding down. I’m think guts or liver. I’ve got eyes on him and I don’t think I can get out of this stand without him taking off and that’s the last thing I want. I’m pinned down, fugg me
Shootem again! Sounds like a gut shot, did he haunch up after the shot and slowly walk off?

Then slide out easy. Grab lunch. Drink a beer. Put your gutting and dragging clothes on and wait until closer to dark. (Or continue to sit and observe is a great option too if your stomach allows.)

Facing away? Lots of stuff between you two? Wind in your favor? IF you wanted to slide out, this might be the best time. How stealthy are you? 🤣

He just pulled his head up, still looking away from me. He’s roughly where I circled, 50 yds from me. Facing away, wind from him to me. Stiff breeze. I don’t think he could see me on the ground

Just my opinion but he doesn’t know you are there and he’s hurt pretty good if he bedded that quick and isn’t moving. I’d try to wait him out or sneak out of there. Give him time to pass. It’s a high risk situation to try and sneak up for a shot and you might lose him for good. It’s windy but the leaves are pretty crunchy where I’m hunting.

That’s the plan, I’ve got nothing to lose but him. It’s windy and crunchy here. He’s only lifted his head once in the last 30 minutes. It’s so low in the brush now I keep losing sight of his antlers. Time is on my side. I think i can safely sneak out if I decide to

Well had my second sit of the season and got skunked and blew at but I enjoyed the peace of the woods and relaxation. Had a group of 9 turkeys in at 20yrds all strutting around which was cool

Decided after my morning hunt that I would go buy a blind and cruise down to another property that I can hunt and get it set up for my boy tomorrow in hopes of getting him his first deer ever.

Been some good activity going on there and not much foot traffic so hoping it works out in our favor. Also found a shed that’s a pretty good one and pretty sure he is still around as the camera say 😄

Hopefully report tomorrow with a boy smiling holding something with antlers or just a good ole doe!!!
