Ended up shooting a BB yesterday evening, my favorite antlerless to take. I didn't watch it fall so let it sit and came back and picked him up this morning. He didn't go much past where I last saw him. He was smoked but weird thing is barely any blood? Same gun i used and orange vest when i shot my first deee 24 years ago, 870 youth 20 guage. Anyways glad to get this one out of the way.

If you look real hard across the holler at 105 steps, you can see the blind. Was contemplating my exit so I could grab lunch when I caught him sneaking down the holler. I mouth squeaked and he changed directions just enough to give me a shot. As it turns out, he was trailing a doe and he dropped almost in her still warm bed. Very healthy male that is probably 40+ #s. That's a moral victory if nothing else!

Same property as this morning. Different stand. Good observation stand if nothing else. Will be able to see some ares with no cameras and only partial visibility from other stands. Not the perfect wind for it but not bad. And there is a combine taking the last corn down on this block. Maybe 1/2 mile away but good enough reasoning for me to hunt here. I wanted to anyway to observe. Now my odds are increased with the combine going. Mixing it up.

Edit: 4 does snuck in as I finished typing. I'm thinking same doe group as this morning just a long way apart from stands. Wish this seat flipped up so I could stand up and observe better without moving so much. This is promising though. And I keep hearing gun shots maybe 1/2 to 1 mile away. Either someone is sighting in or someone is doing a drive.
