Today is a fresh start for my diet as I look to get back to my preferred weight of 205. Eating keto, with a focus on protein more than veggies, works really well for me. I also love dairy and can't imagine eating clean without cheese, especially cottage cheese. We have a local dairy that sells through the country market down the road, so I can get unpasteurized cheese curds and fresh milk a mile down the road. Daisy cottage cheese is the cleanest on the market that you can find most places. Kroger carries another brand called Good Culture that is also a good choice.

One key aspect of keto is focusing on clean ingredients to achieve the best results. When I lost 60#s in 6 months back in 2016, that's the cleanest eating stretch of my life and it's incredible how well I felt physically but more importantly, mentally. As I alluded to in an early post, fasting was a key part of that success, too. So my last calories were at 9P last night and we'll see when I break it. Will be Tuesday at the earliest!

Clicked the app and this was the first post. Pretty much how I feel right now. Only I'm screaming at a damn wall. Trying to lead by example in my house and no one cares. At what point am I the asshole when I just quit buying the poison? My kids are going to hate me. That scares me.
It makes it very easy when your wife eats the same as you.

This summer we had an ice cream place open in our little town. I tried it for the first time just now. On a crazy sugar rush and my gut is cramping bad! I probably shouldn't of ate all 16 ounces of my double reeses mix. It was good but I have a strong feeling I'm not done tasting it! 🤮

I asked ChatGPT the difference between lard and beef tallow for cooking. Here is the response

Tallow: Often harder to find in stores, though it can be purchased online or made at home by rendering beef fat.


Which is better?

For flavor: If you want a milder fat that works well in baking, lard might be a better choice. For richer, meatier dishes, tallow adds a savory depth.

For health: Lard has slightly more monounsaturated fat, which some consider healthier. However, both fats can be part of a balanced diet when used in moderation.

For high-heat cooking: Tallow’s higher smoke point makes it more suitable for high-temperature methods like deep-frying.


Both fats have unique strengths depending on the dish and cooking method you're using.

That includes the girl that works in the meat department where I order it from by the case. I am WAY down this rabbit hole thanks to Kristi and her suggestion to try this WOE for a month, which BTW, was over a year ago.

I love seeing people getting healthy and waking up to the poison the gov’t, food industry, big Ag, and pharma have been pushing on society for decades now.

Our family was no different, and didn’t know better for a long time. Then our daughter was diagnosed with hoshimoto’s at a very young age. Like so many auto-immune diseases, we had to do our own research because pediatricians and the medical system don’t want to look for the root cause. They just treat the surface level.

One of the rabbit holes we went down was our food / diet. Extremely long story short, we’ve been eating as healthy and organic as possible for about a decade now. That includes my wife and daughter being gluten free. I’d be there with them if I didn’t enjoy beer and whiskey.

All I know is that diet and exercise make a world of difference. What makes me proud is setting an example and having our kids notice it as well. They look at you as a role model so you need to show them the way.

Woke up really hungry yesterday. Downed a bunch of water along with the supplement I’m taking. Cravings subsided. Around 2 o’clock it’d been 24 hours since my last meal. Went and got a “big ass salad” (Seinfeld reference) and ate it. Lots of peppers and cheese with bacon and chicken.
Ate the whole thing. Probably a mistake, but it was good…..

I lied about fasting until today 😂

Made it to hour 22 and couldn't pass up eggs, bacon, and sausage for dinner with the fam. I did pass up the toast, so that's a good adjustment to a common meal in our house. I could barely get my wedding ring on yesterday and spent all day at the urinal. Woke up down 4#s of water weight in 24 hours. Crazy how much sodium I'd consumed over the weekend 😬

The more you educate yourself by doing some research into US food pyramid, the way that our food differs from some of the European foods, and how they have lied and manipulated us, the more pissed off you will become. It almost seems as though our government wants us fat and generally unhealthy.
