I am turning over a new leaf. I’ve never been much of a baiter. But circumstances at a farm Krista and I own have driven me to it. We have a guy hunting a neighbors place that dumps out corn and stacks bodies. He may still do it, but I’m going to try to slow a few of them down. Is it the right thing to do? IDK, but I’m gonna. We think this thing will hold about 4k lbs. I’ll find out tomorrow morning. A couple farming buddies claimed they will keep it filled for me this year and I fully intend to do my part to empty it.

4040 lbs of corn loaded in the wagon and ready for deployment. Let the games begin. Mason is heading out now to seed buck forage oats into a standing bean field. I spoke with the man that farms it for us this morning to make sure it was ok w him. He said we won’t hurt a thing so we are moving forward with the plan. Hopefully with recent rains and the bean chaff soon to be covering the seed this stuff will come up later in the season.

I haven’t been hunting yet in Ohio. Mason has gone a couple times. He got close on a good one tonight but the deer wasn’t in recurve range. No mess
A good friend of mine made a heck of a mess on opening day. This deer left the property in mid-October last year so he felt like he needed to get him quick if he was going to. And he wasn’t sure he was going to shoot him because he is pretty sure the deer was only four. When he came by at 12 yards he decided that was old enough. First of my pals to kill this year and likely the best we will see.
