Birthday boy found a few roosters but his dad forgot how to shoot straight. At least one of them flew into some shot and fell for a nice retrieve to hand.

They're definitely still active with the temps being warm. I had a few crawling on me while deer hunting two weeks ago.

Weekend + work recap.... Saturday: As soon as I stepped out of the truck I knew I had to change plans. While getting dressed, I could feel the real-world wind direction wasn't matching up with what the weather app was showing. I headed out to a tree I'd hung a stand in before and settled in...

Ever wonder what hoof impressions of a good 8 pt look like when he hits your scent at 5 yards while you’re at full draw and ready to shoot? What timing for the wind to completely stop. I just dropped some milkweed and it floated down to where the buck dug in and bolted. The wind has resumed now.

@at1010 Had to be coming from heavy breathing, spitting out of the mouth. That tree pic was at the very tail end of the trail too. The shot was a quartering away angle so I was aiming at the opposite front leg. Arrow took out both lungs but when I got to her there was a lot of blood on her face...
