Had a “near shooter” at 17 yards in the last 20 minutes. Light was fleeting, and he wasn’t quite enough for me to burn my tag this early. Still an exciting and solid opening day hunt.

Also, I think this is the first time I’ve hunted in shorts lol

Settled in for the first sit of the season. Sitting on the outskirts of an oak flat on public. All the surrounding beans are turned so I’d imagine they’re starting to switch food sources. Doubt I shoot anything, mostly because I’m too lazy and work tomorrow morning 😂 Good luck to anyone else out.

Saturday afternoon was packed, but most of the day Sunday and Monday morning it was a ghost town thankfully

Spent a couple days up north solo. Water was super low and clear so it was tough but I made it work. Couple dozen trout, best being 23” and a handful of salmon.

Ended the evening by getting carried off by mosquitos when my thermacell pad ran out. Saw 4 does at last light. They came from pretty much the exact opposite direction I anticipated them to. Nice to get out with the bow in hand either way.

I’m in. Everything is going exactly as it should based on my history. Lugged in all my shit to climb and ended up on the ground. Wind is cooperating for the most part with an occasional swirl. Sitting on the hardest clay imaginable under a pin oak with no butt pad or stool, looking at a bean...

That never ends 😉 I was breaking ice in the marina last December to get out on Erie lol
