That’s very similar to what my setup is/will be. I’d like to have more than 175gr up front, but I think I’m already maxing out my 300 spine with my 29.5” draw @ 60lbs. If I didn’t stock pile the 300 spines I’d consider going stiffer, but I don’t really see the need in my experience.

What length and cut are you using? After shooting a stick bow for the first 3/4 of my archery career, I certainly have a soft spot for feathers. I’d like to assume a 4 fletch 2” could steer a Magnus Stinger fine with a well tuned setup.

Had a free day today and needed a break from studying for a midterm. Did a “north river circuit” and hit a handful of accesses. Used only 1 fly all day.

Nate and I got out one last time yesterday morning before my short vacation window ended. Western basin Erie. Half a dozen-dozen smallmouth, more sheephead than I care to count, 1 walleye and 20ish largemouth. Not a terrible outing for a few hours.

Spent a few days up north with Nate. Weather was pretty good, little warmer than I like for trout which limited where we could ethically fish. Some fish cooperated, but it was mostly shenanigans and drinking beer. Definitely needed a break and this did it for me thankfully.

Nate and I got out for a few hours yesterday. Western basin on Erie. Guessing around 75 largemouth landed and a handful of drum between the two of us. Nothing over 3.5 prolly. Finally got a chance to play with those Southern Ohio Custom baits too, largemouth liked em. It was a good day.

My baits showed up yesterday. They look great, and I think the smallmouth on Erie, LSC and local rivers are gonna love em. Just got home from work, gonna change and hook up the boat to give em a shot. Will update later on hopefully…

10-12 mono and fluoro is my standard for most rigs and it seems to work well, just gotta cut a foot or two off occasionally dragging shit through the rocks (I don’t, I just break fish off instead 😂) Only a few more weeks of a super sucky school schedule, then it’ll be back to a moderately sucky...
