Good Morning of Squirrel Hunting with the dog

Jamie is the professional. We are still novices. When I was younger I did a ton of coonhunting, so I understand about how to train a dog as it is essentially the same. Really happy with how Delta has been making progress. She still has a ways to go, but I see progress just about everytime...

Good Morning of Squirrel Hunting with the dog

A little tougher to film squirrel hunting with a dog than it is fishing, but hey I tried.

WTF Renaming the Wayne Forest !!🤬

I was always surprised that the Marietta unit didn't have more recreational use. Actually it has 2 rivers. The Ohio and the Little Muskingum.

    Squirrel Doggin' 23-24

Congrats. Looks like you mostly have fox squirrels where you hunt. We are the opposite where I hunt in PA and Ohio. Mostly grey squirrels here with some fox. Most of the fox squirrels here are found along field edges and old farmland. Greys seem to be more in the big woods.

    Squirrel Doggin' 23-24

I have had a few situations similar to this especially when I used to hunt with coonhounds. Back then it was a bit better as most people understood. Most people today don't understand how the process works and that dogs don't know property lines.

    Squirrel hunting with Delta

Little miss Delta is starting to figure things out. She has treed us several squirrels in the last couple of weeks and quite a few dens. Never really squirrel hunted with dogs much but didn't realize how much often they will bail out of the tree. Like I said she is starting to get things...

He was off today on fall break. Didn't really need the tracking dog but he has been training her so he let her work it out.

    PA Buck

My son and youngest daughter still hunt. My youngest is in highs school sports and my son does track at college so that limits their hunting some.

    Baiting Mature Bucks.

Yep. Hunt a state without it and you will see more natural daylight movement.

    Buy twice, cry twice...

Best thing about Excal's is you can change the string yourself. All you need is the string changer which is pretty cheap. You will need it anyway as you occasionally have to put a few twists in to keep it adjusted. Like you said they are simple design. Good Luck!

Tidewe Hunting - Blind See Through

I had one. Wind storm destroyed it which really wasn't the blinds fault as it was extremly high wind and I didn't have it anchored really right. They are a cool blind and not bad for the money. Downside to the see through design is it let's alot of light in. That allows deer when they are...
