    Cultural Appropriation.

Maybe we can call it that because the North won and we get to name the things?

    Cultural Appropriation.

True. But I looked it up, the origins of the Mississippi roast can be traced back to a woman from... Wait for it... Mississippi New England is the white creamy, Manhattan is the red, and there is another white more runny chowder called the Rhode Island, which is my favorite.

    Cultural Appropriation.

Sorry to singe your feathers there Colonel Sanders 😉 Just figured I would use what has become the widely-accepted nomenclature of that particular combination of ingredients. I get what you're saying though. What is the difference between southern food and soul food? In a completely unrelated...

    MeatEater Cleveland. Anyone going?

Ha, I will drop your name. Want me to have him sign my underwear for you too?

    MeatEater Cleveland. Anyone going?

Anybody going to the MeatEater: Behind the Curtains show in Cleveland on Thursday? A buddy and I are going, we sprung for the VIP meet and greet tickets. Depending on what time we get there, we might stop by Southern Tier Brewery beforehand. Ohio BHA and QDMA are hosting a pregame party there.

FYI TOO Sponsorship of Central Ohio Lead Slingers Steel Team

Done. Accidentally submitted it before changing to friends and family. My bad. It was through my bank though so it shouldn't have fees hopefully.

    Venison Mississippi Roast

I believe I got this recipe originally from a Field and Stream Facebook post but have since made a few modifications, one of which being to make it easy for a slow cooker, which I find to be the best way to make this. I've made a few modifications to be Keto- friendly, mainly the coconut flour...

    Tools every man should own

Thanks, when there are no knots, I can clean through wood a hell of a lot faster than with the hydraulic splitter.

    Tools every man should own

It makes a huge difference. They have hookeroons and pickeroons, which have a shorter handle for dealing with smaller splits faster. I use the longer one because I work with a lot of big rounds and it gives me leverage to roll them and pick them up. How heavy is that axe head Joe? When splitting...

    Tools every man should own

I'm sure someone mentioned a good chainsaw and a maul, but how about a back-saving hookeroon?

    Coyote Challenge 2018-19

I know where there are a couple you boys wouldn't have any trouble getting close to...:D. Cleveland Museum of Natural History has three that were C-section delivered in Texas after it's mother was hit by a car.

    Doggone good dog thread

That does suck Mike, sorry to hear. I just heard today a rumor that they determined those Lyme vaccines aren't really that effective. Also, it sucks because other than dousing your pup in DEET or some other nasty shit there isn't much you can do. The preventatives require the suckers latch on...

    Hallmark Day

The gf hates these holidays, so we don't do shit! There is a bottle of wine chilling in the fridge, but that's a regular thing anyway.

    Doggone good dog thread

Agreed. My brother uses his dog for the occasional duck jump shoot session, but that dog lives off ptarmigan hunting. He doesn't see cold water on a consistent basis and I doubt it would be a good move for late season.

    Doggone good dog thread

Take this anecdotal evidence for what it's worth. My brother in Alaska has a GSP. He takes that dog everywhere with him, including ice fishing. Granted, he uses shanties, but the travel is gruesome. He did have one occasion where he had to unstick the dogs nuts from the ice with a pot of warm...

    FYI Future Felons

They don't have anything official up yet, but they are duking it out in comments on other posts.

    FYI Future Felons

I saw this comment from them on their Facebook page: Legislative Service Commission, who writes and edits bills, made an error in the final version of the bill. There were dozens of bills and versions of bills floating around in lame duck. They're aware of it and it will be corrected. The...

    Dog training collar

We roll with Blue Buffalo. Our rescue lab pup gets a cup in the a.m. mixed with egg yolks and a cup in the PM mixed with a few squirts of wild Alaskan salmon oil. Damn coat practically blinds you.

    Pack out mount

I've seen this a few times. The ones I saw were mounted on old trapper frame packs. It's not my personal cup of tea, but I must say it's pretty interesting.

    NM Barbary Sheep

Sounds awesome! 600 yards is quite the poke, I hope you can seal the deal. I might have missed it, but how long will you be there?
