They were hammering this morning! 🦃 Until a bobcat came in… even got the bobcat on video! Very cool morning for Isaac, multiple toms, full strut but out of range. Then a bobcat and coyote.

Windy and quiet this morning in Athens Co. Bumped a hen off a nest walking out.

Rt 33 Motors had a very nice Tacoma this week.

Chickens. Pigs. Beef and Dairy Feeders in our past. Only chickens and pigs this year.

1 shot heard this morning. Sat until 8, still hunted/scouted a long ridge system. Wind more brutal than yesterday 🦌

We saw a ton of deer activity during youth weekend.

Zaleski— windy/ cold and nothing seen. Only heard a few far away shots. Hunted til 11. Waterloo— windier/ colder. Nothing seen. Heard 2 shots 12-dark. Didn’t see very many hunters out either. 🤷‍♂️

Looking toward Zaleski or Waterloo. Tons of big woods. We’ll see 🤷‍♂️

2- Bucks. Both got a pass. This one came out 5 yards beside us, dogging a doe.

Saw 3 this morning. One fork head under 10 yards, Isaac gave him a 2 year pass. Running doe, after shots fired in the distance and an unknown. Grunting deer on the ridge behind us. Back out after lunch.

Been primarily a bow hunter with occasional opening day sits on private. More of a social gun season guy- friends from out of town and family visiting. Wondering what are your “go to tactics” or “tips” for gun season. Public or private. TIA

Tons of chasing going on in Athens Co.

Tons of pressure on public. Heat has everything held tight. Not seen a lot in areas we typically do. Cameras even slow.

Hit a few places in Wolf Creek this week hoping to get on something with Isaac my 12 y/o. Tons of pressure and very little mature buck sign. May head toward Zaleski or Vinton. Any history there or advice? Been hitting more places. My place and surrounding neighbors were cleaned out by EHD last...
