I have thought about that. And you make a very good point. However, the only deer farmer near this property is (from what I've been told) not a serious deer farmer... more like a hobbyist. I doubt he's got any big money invested in his deer. She's gonna get whacked...

Just need to keep shooting. Sadly, I am ready to abandon my Elite which I bought since last season. I am shooting well with my "old bow" and will most likely focus on it and just be ready for the season. Seems like the smart thing to do to me. Need to start the season with something you are comfortable and confident with.

What's the difference in brace height between the two?

Very little difference. I think Milo made the biggest observation in that the difference in grips has me goofed up. The Elite grip is tiny and hurting me in consistency. Still working on not punching the trigger as well (on both bows).

Get a back tension/hinge release to practice with. Whenever I get punchy or inconsistent I go back to it. I will be shooting with it all week.

There's only one thing I'm not a huge fan of with Elites and that's the grip. I learned to deal with it, switching to a different grip style in the process, but it's not for everyone.

Both bows will kill deer the same. It's really just a matter of confidence... If you're not 100% confident with the Elite, I don't blame you for leaving it in the closet.

Send me your address and I will send you the Elite rubber grip. It may help ya. Feels a lot like a Hoyt grip to me.

Mighty windy here tonight. Got me worrying about the acorns. Man I hope they hang onto that little tree a little longer!

I was working in my barn last night and the huge oaks (reds and whites) that hang above were raining acorns. It was a constant barrage.

One of my sweeper guys was semi-complaining about all the acorns on one of our properties. I might tell him not to worry about using the truck there tonight. I will go out with a backpack blower, scoop shovel and broom, and sweep them up manually! lmao

Thanks Greg! I will text it to you. That might be just the ticket. If not, I can send it back or pass it on to the next guy.

Just a thought here for you guys trying to adapt to the skinny grips - give it a little time! I shot my Strother as well if not better than any bow I've ever shot. It seemed to shoot better than I aimed, and I think part of that is due to the grip design. You don't "grip" those handles, you let them mash into the meat at the base of your thumb. Give it an honest try before reverting to something you can grab.
