Transformer on neighbors pole just popped, pitch black. Good opportunity to do a test run, all systems passed. Would like to see a little more response energy from the Mrs. next go round but I had her covered with ample firepower as she worked to open the emergency tubs and get necessary lights in place. Only had 1of3 children wake as the backup night light was positioned. First real chance to get feel for COVID-19 and missing one of the 2 essential utilities that make life easier. Checked in on neighbor, house and the family are good.

She is now enjoying a bath by the candle light. Electric H2O heater, use it while it's hot.

I hope and pray it is no where close to that.

I remember a HS teacher saying the good old USA had always been isolated from these world wide pandemics throughout history due to relative isolation. I’d really like to stick this globalization BS up someone’s somewhere. There is nothing manufactured anywhere that can’t be made here.

Wife went to the Home Depot yesterday for some paint for the bathroom. Because much like the rest of you, it’s a great time to tackle those projects. Well, she left me a note on my sandwich this morning to unload the paint. 5 gallons....hmmm, bathroom ain’t that big. I wonder what color the house will be?

Unfortunately, that is very wishful thinking. If only 40% of the country gets it and 1% of them die that is 126,000 deaths. Unless we do something to prevent infection like a vaccine or lessen how serious the virus is like Zink and chloroquine has shown promise in doing then we can expect at least double that. Right now it seems like the only thing they are doing is concentrating on treatment which means they're going to manage this until herd immunity is achieved. For that to happen we need about 80% of people to get it. I think they're trying to quarantine everyone to get spread under control then open it back up until spread starts again and lock it back down, then continue that cycle until herd immunity makes outbreaks manageable while keeping everything open.

Man do I hate to agree with that...but the writing is on the wall.

We should be happy this wasn't SARS-1 or MERS with 14% and 35% fatality rates. The US and State governments and its people are very very lucky, this is a puney shot across the bow as far as coronavirus are concerned.

My wife has to check in at work daily with the current state numbers to the group she is a part of based out of Altlanta, GA. Kind of scary to hear her chats with the other states like GA that do not have a lock down in place and how people there are just casual business as usual in their communities. According to her boss based there they are not testing very much and as numbers start climbing in Atlanta they are seeing an influx of people coming out to the smaller local communities to frequent their establishments. Recipe for disaster IMO.

County I live in had our first death this week... Cases just keep climbing, I haven't left the house in over a week.. Just checked the food pantry and need a few things so guess I gotta go to the grocery store soon... But it's only being compared to the common flu so keep the faith...
