Let me just say this before I comment. I feel for each individual who has had the virus and lost someone from it.

Personally I’m done with the bullshit. I’m going to live life just like I always have for the most part.(Some people I know are still on the fence I know, N that’s okay)

Another one of my bitches who the fugg gets to make the decision on if someone’s job is essential or not. Everybody I’ve ever know that works. Their job has always been essential. What kind of shit is that.

I’ve saw enough bullshit come from all the head asses in the state and across the United States. For the most part as David Allen Coe would say. Bullshit and lies.

I’m willing to be part of the heard immunity plan. I’m also willing to live or die by the consequences of my own choices. Nothing new there. What I’m not willing to do is live in fear.

I’ve participated in the stay home order. I’ve also watched it all. I’m just not personally convinced to do it anymore. This Covid is going to be rode out for all it’s worth.

I’ve made my decision. Not bashing anyone for theirs.

I will say this tho, my prediction this is going to be one of the biggest scams of our lives.

My wife gets to continue to work from home but i have been slammed at work since this whole thing started...took our workplace a few weeks to get their head out of their asses for taking precautions, actually i dont think they really give a shit they are making too much money right now.
But not one person that i know of there has gotten ill from this virus just plugging along like any other day.
I will do what is required and continue to stay away from large groups of people but am pretty much over it, i feel bad for the businesses that may have to close down.
Guy i work with said his girlfriend is bringing in $500 more a week than she was making working same for my sister said she is getting around $900 a week until the daycare reopens she works at. Gonna have alot of people not wanting to go back to work.

The shutdown has done very little in my neighborhood, I think. Even a causal observer could see out the window of our shop that if this thing was spreading as predicted, this entire town would be sick. We have not shutdown one minute here. We have been busier than ever. We have put in some practices to keep folks separated and for the most part patrons have respected the boundaries. Having said that, the hardware store next door is packed, open to close. Same with Dollar General or any other essential business. There are plenty of places for it to spread, lots of great places for transmitting... and it hasn’t happened yet thankfully! I am all for putting this thing behind us by cautiously moving forward. From what I can tell, the only thing we have done at this point is singling out a select few venues to destroy. A friend that owns the gym here in town has been dead in the water for two months now while he watches the essential businesses in town experiencing a boom. A hard pill for him to swallow I’m sure.

This is Washington County.

I'm back in the office and had a meeting today. I shook hands yesterday and today. Today, I got carryout lunch, went to Lowes, Tractor Supply, and am getting an oil change now. No mask. I keep my distance and carry hand sanitizer. I got a life to live and I'll be safe about doing it. As for shaking hands, I'm new in my role and am meeting new stakeholders daily. If a man of influence extends his hand in a business setting, I shake his hand, then sanitize. It's on par with slicing your palms with a knife and clasping hands in 1820 it feels like.

Spending has not slowed down. Govt has thrown money at the problem like a rapper making it rain Dolla Dolla bills at the strip club. The people are at home or still working. They have MORE money. I realize there are some exceptions and people who have had issues collecting anything and that is BS. FB marketplace is rocking. Everyone I talk to has been selling stuff on there and getting too dollar. So if people are still interacting we may as well open up while using sensible measures. I don't believe this is a hoax or a scam. I believe it is real and people are getting sick/dying. I just think the govt took the money printing too far on this one.

Went too a farmers market this afternoon. Wife found it on FB. Showed up and there were a half dozen customers within double that for vendors. Open air in a community parking lot in downtown. Walked by a few tables that had vegetables and some lady cane running over too is asking where our masks were? I looked at her with her mask half on and off and said we’re outside why the need for the mask? She said it was all over the FB post about wearing them and each table had a sign requiring it. Well, lady. I’m not on FB. I just walked past 2 tables with no mention of a mask on any of the signs. Well it’s mandatory for this farmers market. Well, Barney, why did you just start with that. We don’t have any (actually have a box of them in the truck and a fabric one in my back pocket) so ole Barney removed 2 from her respirator box and handed them too us and walked away.
Of course my wife called me an ass and a few of the vendors laughed, when I started saying loudly “Citizen's arrest” “Citizens Arrest” 😂😂😂
Walked by every table, not one mention (in writing) of masks required.
Wife looked on FB and no mention there either.
Oh well, don’t know why that tripped my trigger but it did. Probably been building for a while 😂

Worked everyday from the start. I saw an extremely low number of people wearing masks anywhere working in hardware stores or places I go until Monday. Yea grocery stores people had them on. (I haven't been to many) Any store that's been open has been packed since shutdown. They said it wasn't SARS or mers from the beginning so ive went on with my normal way of life from day one with hygiene. I just stay away from old people and try to do the 6ft thing. Went into a gun shop today no masks were on which made me very happy (because very few did until Monday where I've been) unlike menards where they won't let u in the store. I still think it went through my household March 13th. I was cautious for a week and a half to not get others sick but have said f it since then.

My lymph nodes in my neck have been swollen and hurt all day. Right ear is burning. Normal for this time of year with allergies, but man does it make you wonder. Fugg this thread and the virus! What used to be normal and just part of it has changed the world.

These normal things will change what I do for a while...just in case. Stupid

The announcements early on from the Surgeon General and the CDC that masks were not effective was one of the biggest screw ups in all of this mess. The fact is, we were misled about masks and face coverings early on and it stuck. They needed surgical masks and N95's for front workers and people were hoarding them. I get it - that needed to stop. But, don't don't tell the entire nation a massive lie to try to stop the hoarding. They've backtracked on all of it since then, but the damage is done.

What if we were told the truth and everyone started wearing face coverings early on? Would that have reduced the transmission rate to a level that would have caused the virus to die out on it's own? Would we have had to shut the frickin country down? I don't know, I'm no expert. Guess we'll never know. To paraphrase @Geezer II, the cat is out of the bag and done ran off into the woods.

Gotta love it... If a mask gives you no protection, and only prevents the wearer from spreading it, then why does a nurse need one to work on a patient with the virus?? HE ALREADY HAS IT...
