2019-nCoV (Coronavirus)

And not an easy one to answer, or what I feel will be answered soon. Feels like the majority that prefers safety over liberty will only learn after it is too late.

I'm 37yrs old, I can't believe its already the year 2020 and I can't believe we are living thru this, just like 9/11, its too surreal. If feels like Y2K was just yesterday and a Bush or Clinton was president. Its scary to think a portion of my childhood in games or sifi movies is real life.

My fear is that they have figured out how to make our own personal place of safety (our homes) the train cars.

Ever since I saw the first commercial that said "the new normal" my gut didn't agree with this at all. My mind went back to WW2 and how easily they rounded up all the Jews. Go back and look at pictures. The people that are getting on the train cars aren't scared, they don't look concerned. Wonder why? Because they where told that this is what's best for them. This is whats going to keep you SAFE. I don't think covid is fake, and my mom is a prime candidate to go down if she gets it. She is already battling congestive heart failure and has trouble with being short of breathe. I don't want to see her die, but I also understand that we can't shut the world down just for the safety of a few select people.

Either way I think we're in for some historic times, just not the good history we like to think about.

I've also looked back at WW2,but at the US . People did what they were asked to do , irregardless of political party for the good of the nation. Can't do that now because it" violates "somebodies rights .

Ask the Japanese Americans forced into internment camps. I’m sure they were doing it “for the good of the nation” and didn’t feel like their rights were being violated at all

I have no idea on how to find this number out, but I'd like to know how many working Americans that got sent home after the first lockdown have never made it back to work?

Found out Monday the owner of the building we work in has it. He was in all last week and woke up Saturday morning with a fever. Got tested and was told Sunday. All week I have came in and sprayed everything down just in case. Last evening I'm here working by myself and I hear the back door open, figured it was one of his workers. Nope, it was the owner coming in to work! Said 'covid crew coming in' joking. I couldn't get out of here fast enough. Sprayed everything down with bleach water this morning......hope it works. Must not know what .

I just got confirmation that I have it. Started feeling crappy Saturday running a fever bodyaches and a bad headache. Went Sunday and got a test done and just heard back this morning. Four out of five of us in the office have it as well and all started on Saturday too. The owner is the only one that didn’t seem to come down with the same symptoms but he was sick over a month ago and it has lingered on since then. Now since he has finally gone to get checked out it’s possible that he was the carrier all along.
Hope you are feeling well

Me too Charles! I hope you can beat this thing quickly.
Thanks guys. So far doing well. The weekend into Monday so far was the worst for me. My wife is about a day behind and doing ok. She really has to watch herself with chronic asthma, taking all her breathing treatments and meds. Just a good bit of a cough and low energy for both of us. Boss was bugging me about picking up my computer yesterday so I went over and got it. I was whipped after that. Did a little work today but said fuck it and rested up some more.

Touche' , big difference being sent to a camp and sitting in your house for a few hours after dark tho.

Back then Americans were united in stopping the spread of communism, socialism, Marxists, etc. The difference today is, those people are already here.

People were patriots regardless of politics, they had a work ethic, they provided, they raised pretty good families. Today those same conservative, white, Christians are demonized, persecuted, and chastized on a national scale. They are called racists, bigots and accused of not being "woke", reperations and apologies are demanded from them for something they had no part in. They today are still conservative, patriotic, working men who pay taxes and want to raise a good family. Yet at every turn a large portion of this country tries to destroy them and run them down. Those same people have said that we should close the country and destroy the livelihoods of the working people. The enemy that Americans united against back then, lives amongst us today.

Tell us something we don't know.

Landmark Danish study shows face masks have no significant effect

Do face masks work? Earlier this year, the UK government decided that masks could play a significant role in stopping Covid-19 and made masks mandatory in a number of public places. But are these policies backed by the scientific evidence?

Yesterday marked the publication of a long-delayed trial in Denmark which hopes to answer that very question. The ‘Danmask-19 trial’ was conducted in the spring with over 3,000 participants, when the public were not being told to wear masks but other public health measures were in place. Unlike other studies looking at masks, the Danmask study was a randomised controlled trial – making it the highest quality scientific evidence.

Around half of those in the trial received 50 disposable surgical face masks, which they were told to change after eight hours of use. After one month, the trial participants were tested using both PCR, antibody and lateral flow tests and compared with the trial participants who did not wear a mask.

In the end, there was no statistically significant difference between those who wore masks and those who did not when it came to being infected by Covid-19. 1.8 per cent of those wearing masks caught Covid, compared to 2.1 per cent of the control group. As a result, it seems that any effect masks have on preventing the spread of the disease in the community is small.

Some people, of course, did not wear their masks properly. Only 46 per cent of those wearing masks in the trial said they had completely adhered to the rules. But even if you only look at people who wore masks ‘exactly as instructed’, this did not make any difference to the results: 2 per cent of this group were also infected.

There are millions of good hard working people, patriots, in this country irregardless of political affiliation - the pendulem swings both ways always has. This country has survived many crisis situations and will continue to do so - they will defend their homes and country, arms and ammo are not exclusive to one group. Americans united - takes compromise by everyone - there are patriotic working men and women who pay taxes and are raising good families of all political affiliations, races, and creeds in this country. Tunnel vision and hatred will eventually diminish to some extent as this country moves forward. Freedom without mutual responsibility is the law of the jungle.
I respect every man on this forum and like reading you opinions and views. Freedom of speech is one of the things that makes America great. We might not always agree but we are all brothers and can learn from each other. I hear ya
