Ross Co.
12g Remington 870 Express Magnum w/ a rifled barrel & a limited edition 'Bone Collector' 3x9-40 duplex rifle-scope on top, shooting a Brenneke 'Black Magic Magnum' 3"; 1-3/8oz. slug cartridge
Another big doe harvest @117yrds. with a single shot from the ground blind @4:47 p.m. w/ a 45 yard recovery

Video description:

Tactacam footage: At approximately 10-til 5:00 p.m., a group of antlerless deer came out from the South, headed to the main creek bottom approximately 120 yards away. I took out one of the biggest ones of the group. Another huge doe with a 117 yard heart shot. Recovery was approximately 45 yards. That makes my third deer for the county, which is the bag limit. I'll have to hunt a different county to fill my buck tag.

Nice doe Denny. Is this the county where the famed THUNDER is located? If so did you give up on him?

Thanks!

He's the buck that I hope makes through the season. He needs another year or maybe two. I've had two encounters with him during archery season. One @30 yards and the other @15 where I was about to shoot'em, but he winded me first. I was after a much bigger one mainly, but I have not seen him since last Friday. I think I won't see him after this week, or not until maybe next season, and the goes for most of the mature bucks in the area. They usually disappear until late January.

I'll be hitting some of my old stomping grounds where I know there are always some good bucks there, plus it's a beautiful piece of property that I absolutely love to hunt. I hope to get out there by Sunday and bonus gun weekend too, plus do some archery hunts in between muzzy. So stay tuned cause I'm not giving up on harvesting a good buck yet.

Harvested these 3 freezer fillers 12/2 with Marlin 44 mag with Nikon Buckmaster scope. Hornady 300 grain SJHP. All deer DRT.
Hunted hard with bow up until gun, but couldn't close the deal. Relieved to get it done. Hunted all day in rain and snow 1st 2 days of gun seeing only 2 deer, then 3rd day all hell broke loose. Most memorable hunt I've had in 38 years.

The 350 tempted me when it came out. It's a great round, BUT that 450 though...😂😂. I've had it two years now and can't see myself in the woods without it during gun law anytime soon.
The numbers are getting hard to remember for certain, but I think we have shot 14 now with the 450. Only two have scurried off, 12 dropped in their tracks.
