I printed a tag again...as much as I hate this part of hunting, I should have time this spring. Stupid way to spend my mornings.

Although fun that’s not a good habit to get into unless you’re calling someone else’s birds.... and then they usually get really angry if they find out. lol
Why? They are idiots. The fun part of hunting turkeys is calling them in. He’s having all the fun now. If they could be educated, and I don’t think they can, we’ve lost nothing.

It'll be over before it even gets here...

2012 was worse off. I remember i was mowing mid march, in 70 degree weather, hens had already done their pecking order. By the time season came in birds were hot on calls for 2 weeks, if that, then it was dead. I think itll be alright.

Long as they dont close the borders, Im going to KY the weekend before we open.

We very rarely find turkeys directly behind our home. There were three hens that spent a fall and winter in there a couple years ago but aside from them, the small wooded drainage is usually void of turkeys. I just told Mason the other day it would be a good idea for him to give that little spot a look. He has not yet, but today he saw a big gobbler and two hens in the field beside our house while he was driving to town. I called my neighbor immediately for permission. If that bird stays there until season, I’d say we’ve got a good chance at putting that one in the pot.

They are working those strut zones like usual. Went ahead and got out license for tennesse since Nebraska quit selling non resident tags for the turkey season. Didnt want to get all the way down there and have the same thing happen and not be able to hunt.

Well I knew it was comming any day... Murphy closed all state lands... So there goes turkey hunting... What's really gonna piss guys off is trout season starts this Sat... Streams are already stocked and guys have bought licenses along with a trout stamp to fish for these trout... Some of our best streams run through state land... Glad I didn't buy a fishing license or a turkey permit yet...
