Best morning of the season..unfortunately neither kid went with me, dang!
Lay em down boys! I’m taking a first timer out this evening. Makes total sense, since I’ve hunted turkey for a total of three days in my life. All last week.

There are at least five longbeards left on the property where Mason shot his birds. Unfortunately they are all gay. I had hens in the field in front of me and the gobblers wanted nothing to do with them. Turkeys are just dumb, no two ways about that. I can’t walk very well right now or I’d have gone to a heterosexual property and shot a bird that had some interest in hens.

They are not smart. Very stubborn and random in their travels though. Haven’t heard a thing since 6:30. Going to go get lunch and try again.

They sure don't look very smart but a bird with a brain the size of a pea they certainly know how to elude us in their elements.
Hello fellow turkey hunters! I've been looking for a place to hunt in the southern region of Ohio because I live in lake county and our season doesn't start till May 4th. Last Monday I went to Mohican State park and saw many other hunters but no turkeys. Any advice as to where I could go check out some public land.

Hearing some gobble but nothing close. Tyler just texted and said he reaped a really good one. He was laying behind his decoy and it strutted across the field to him.

I sat 12 hours yesterday in the field on our East ridge and listened to them gobble on the west ridge all evening. I’m on the west ridge this morning and they haven’t said a thing. I can hear others way off. I’m not used to this patience hunting. I don’t like it!

Went out to scout for the kids. Listened to one gobble for an hr. Finally decided to wake addy up and go after him. In typical turk ways he is now silent...should of got her up at 1st gobble but then he would of shut up when he hit the ground....wind died down and sun is out now...

Working nights. Woke up at 9:00. Jumped in blind. Called in 3 Jakes and saw a hen. Will be a short hunt.
