I decided to take today off so I could try and fill my last tag. Wet leaves and a W wind sets up well for a walkabout. Gonna spend the morning still hunting in hopes of tracking down a slick head.

After 24 straight 12 hour days in the plant it feels good to be in the woods. I work nights tonight so I’m only planning to sit until 10:00. No target bucks in mind, just enjoying some freedom. I’m probably the only guy in Ohio that still has a buck tag.... #worstdeerhunterinohio

Spent the first hour here letting it get light enough to see through the timber. About to pinch a grumpy and get my walk on.

I was just glassing my orchard. They knocked down the fence around one of the expensive pear trees I bought and broke it in half. Arg!!!!
Missed my first deer with a gun in 15 years. Well, I hit her, but only enough to shave her belly. Seen 6 so far. All hot and sweaty now after trying to determine whether I made a lethal hit or not. Time for a break, then back in the saddle.

Spencie, Remember to save a spot on that worst deer hunter bench for me.... I too spent alot of time in the woods and had a deer make a fool out of me...
