2022 Ohio State Buckeyes

I think it was Michigan’s first or second possession, their running back got tripped up for a 3 yard gain but the hole/lane was big enough for a semi to drive through, Michigan was missing passing attempts a little high in zero coverage. I told my very concerned BIL who is a die hard Michigan fan, “ it’s only a matter of time for mich to break some big plays, because OSU was loading to box and playing zero coverage. They literally had no safeties at time: Michigan stuck with their bend don’t break style scheme on d and after a while it paid off with field goals and 4th down stops, and punts. OSU has better athlete, they flat out got out coached and schemed.

It was atrocious man. Twice on those long TD runs the ball carrier only had to beat the LOS and it was nothing but green field to the endzone. Once was a quick hitch route to the flat and OSU had sent everyone on third down. When I say everyone I mean everyone. Wasn't a single defensive player beyond 5 yards from the LOS.

Spoiled or not, it is always disappointing when you have the talent and can't put it together. We were also down 2 important players. BUT, we only played half the game. Michigan adjusted at the half and we didn't. That is piss poor coaching.

As much hate as I've seen for Ryan you can't say he's been a bad coach since hes been there his record is still in the top over how many programs. I'm not saying hes had the best play calls but I put more blame on certain players that just followed the motions and failed to put the heart and determination needed to pull off easy plays. These younger players are no different than the current times we live in . They expect everything without putting the work in. The heart of these young players are very different than the players of 5 to 10 years ago. It's all about the image and expectations of they should have the same results as the years prior which doesn't happen without the determination and hard work that comes with it. Love my buckeyes to death but even with our record this year it wasn't earned with the same attitude as prior years . Just my opinion on it . Either way it sucks but I'm still grateful to be a fan of a team that has been a top contender for years . We could be like several of the other programs in the country that are impressed with 5 wins on the season

CJ Stokes, our 3rd string RB, missed a cut that should have been a long TD. Then the very next series tripped over his own feet on another wide open lane with green grass in front of him

So what I’m hearing is the biggest responsibility for this lose falls on the COACH? Every team has those privileged players you speak of, so it’s the Coaches responsibility to address it and next guy up theory!!!! Like Jesse said, Day owned 0 responsibility in his post game.
My boy told me last night that Fickle took the Wisconsin job!!! Best news I’ve heard in awhile! Good luck to him and the Badgers.
 
I have said it once I will say it 100 times...Day is a terrible coach. There's no denying this at all. The. Recruiting has been down, his leadership style as the "players coach" leads to no tuffness. You can put ND in the category as well. He does not develop players and he is always passing the problems off on the other coaches or players. The new D coach had 1 good season at OK ST but we brought him in for millions. This D is one of the worse OH has had. I will give that guy 1 more year so he can get his system into place. Now to the QB, don't get me wrong he can throw the ball while not under pressure like no ones else. He used to be fantastic rolling out of the pocket and throw dimes. I don't know what happen there. But now to his lack of mobility. I don't know if the coaches are calling this but they have always been better with a mobile QB. All teams are, it gives the D problems because you need to spy them. This takes away a D player. Anyway my rant is over. With Day as the coach they will continue to beat the teams they are supposed to....Michigan and Penn St will become losses yearly. Hopefully the writing is on the wall for him to disappear.

That result should not have shocked anyone who has been watching this team for the second half of the season. I don't know what it was, injuries or what, but this team peaked early in the season. They probably should have lost at Penn St but won it with a flurry at the end thanks to Tuimoloau going God-mode. They played like trash against Northwestern. I don't care about the weather and the wind, it's freaking 1-win Northwestern. They should have been able to pound that team to death with the running game and they couldn't do it. They struggled again with Maryland. I was shocked they were favored over UM by as much as they were, I thought it was a pick-em kind of game.

I watched the first half and felt like OSU should have been up by multiple touchdowns at the half, but were only up 3 thanks to settling for FG's, a failed 4th down call, and allowing big plays to UM. That's when I knew they were in deep shit. The second half was all about will and UM broke OSU's. Maybe if they could have forced McCarthy to make tight throws it would have been different, but his big plays through the passing game were to largely wide open receivers. Any competent Power 5 QB can make those throws. The big runs by Edwards at the end were just salt in the wound.

I think OSU is a front-runner sort of team. Let them play with a lead and they play free and open. When they get in tight spots against quality opponents, they play tight and all of a sudden little issues like short yardage plays and being able to play fundamental football bite you in the ass. And Michigan bit down HARD on Saturday. I heard the word soft being tossed around about the Buckeyes, and I think it's accurate. They're a soft team that needs to find some toughness.

Little kids running to an ice cream truck have more determination than stroud does to get a 1st down. He must be waiting on a paycheck until he will step past the line of scrimmage....i dont think he will have much of a career when he starts getting hit on sundays whichever team gambles drafting him. We dont deserve a playoff spot but it could majorly help shed doubts and opinions of days future and what direction osu needs to go....its better than doing it all over again next season! Get the ball rolling a year earlier.

It's going to be interesting how they come out against UGA. There's going to have been nearly a month worth of talk about them being soft and you know Georgia is going to punch them in the teeth. My gut tells me the Buckeyes will either beat UGA or get thoroughly dismantled. UGA has had a couple of "off" games (Kent St, Mizzou, Kentucky) and have looked somewhat beatable at times. And then at other times, they destroyed teams like Oregon, Tennessee, and LSU. I think Georgia wins, but I have felt all year long like no team is unbeatable this year. No one team has ran away from everyone.

What is interesting to me is that it feels like Michigan got the easier playoff path over Georgia. I know they didn't want an immediate rematch of OSU-Mich but I do believe OSU is a better team than TCU.
