Thought we could use a summer scouting thread. Most of mine will be from the house because they hang out right here during the summer. This looks like the buck we call 9.5. He’s 5 now. Never going to be a giant but a solid tall rack.

I'm a loser at this now. Back when we had tons of deer and I had no kids, I spent every evening on the gravel roads filming bucks. I remember the summer of 2008, I knew of no less than 30 good bucks within 30 minutes of my house. One field yielded 9 bucks 120+. Those were the days...
One of the house bucks. There was a wide one in front of the house in the alfalfa this morning but it was too dark for a good pic.
Storms moved through and the boys are out and about.
This buck has many names. My wife named him big guy 2 years ago. He was a 17” wide 2 year old 5x3. Tyler named him 53. Last year I started calling him wideload as a 20” wide 4x4. This year he looks like he’s going to be at least a 6x4.
Which pose you think Tyler is gonna have him mounted in this fall Mike? Lol sorry buddy.

Wideload is a yard regular. He is basically done. Big spread, no mass.
Fun night at the house. A one year old, a 2 year old, a 3 year old, three 4 year olds and a 5 year old. Really cool watching them interact.

Bully is already putting on his winter coat. Maybe that’s why he’s so grumpy.
Actually Wideload backed him down. They nearly put the horns together.
