Scrapes are staying fresh and new rubs every time I pull cards in most of the counties in the NW part of the state. Haven’t gotten any pics of chasing or seen any yet, but I’m imagining that’ll change in the next few days. Have had some young bucks cruising during day light this past week.

Elk Co. PA: Scrapes open since 9/30 around white oak groves and field edges. No rubs to date. I’ll move to SE Ohio come November.

I saw zero signs of the rut in 2D in Pennsylvania last weekend. In Delaware County this past weekend, I saw some small bucks wandering, one was tagging along with a doe and her 3 yearlings. I'm not sure I'd describe what I saw as rutting activity but I could be wrong. I was on a new piece of property that hasn't been hunted to my knowledge so I am still learning what they're doing. I planned to hunt Sunday but decided to let it sit for the week since they knew something was up with a new blind there. I brushed it in after the hunt better to hopefully put their mind at ease. It was very tight quarters.

Scrapes are opening and found several rubs this past weekend in Highland county. Lots of new bucks showing up on my cameras. Lots promising!

One of my backyard bucks trailing 3 does in Portage Co. last night. The bachelor groups appear to have broken up.
Just performed some maintenance around here. Things are getting pretty well torn up, I'd say.
Anyhow, this seems to be the most popular scrape at the moment, even though I see a few more yards away. This spot though has some history to it from previous years. Some of the more strange adult or mature bucks are moving at
, locals are staying busy, some day and night or both, however I have not made my way deeper into the area yet. I have no doubt in my mind that some of the bucks in the area are moving around occasionally during the day too, where there's plenty of cover, and cool temperatures.I'd say it's 'go time' pretty much if you do not have one particular
you're chasing because things are 'fair' during the day, 'active' both early mornings and during the last hour, especially the last 30 minutes.My latest hunt journal post with today's video can shed more light, perhaps.

The new buck counter started last week and we continue to see new bucks nightly. Scrapes have been active for 10 days and new rubs are still showing up. No signs of any real seeking or tending, just bucks looking for new territory where they can find a girlfriend or 4. We're still a week out in SE Ohio from seeking really ramping up IMO.
Several local bucks following a hot doe around here today. It’s heating up.

This weather the 3-4 days isn’t going to be hot enough to stifle the deer movement much in my opinion. Get out there and hunt when you can now, fellas.

Scrapes and monster rubs have accelerated in last 5 days.
Big ones are on their feet checking does wouldn’t say frantically but more so just prepping for the rape game.
Small ones bumping a little heavier.
The testosterone is definitely building!
I would venture to say somewhere a doe has some stink on it around here and other parts of the woods
Locally.
I wouldn’t be scared to rattle some horns nor feel it’s a waste of time to be out.(Never is)
We are in that 3/4week window where anything could happen.
I would personally hunt any time of the day at this point.
I saw action till noon yesterday . 1030 was really hot.
Best of luck. Oh and always watch for a few to drop out of the tops of trees don’t need any accidents due to having to many deer!

Athens, several scraps and a couple rubs. Columbus, a mature buck running some does in my backyard.
Coshocton they are chasing hard. 3.5 year old and down. Wife has had a solid 11 come through last night and this morning sent checking. Hopefully he makes a mistake and comes closer and giver her the shot. Gonna look here in a bit if I can slip a stand on the bench or not.
Coon are still hitting our clover plot hard down at the farm pretty steadily for a month now and Bucktard II’s presence since last Thursday hasn’t deterred them in the slightest. Hoping they leave some for the deer when we start hunt there in about a week. Lol
As for deer movement, not much to report down there either. No corn has been dumped though so maybe that’s the determining factor, DK. Some small bucks and mostly does and their young ones have been hitting acorns and clover during the magical last hour of daylight and cameras have got a couple images during daylight but still 90% movement has been nocturnal.
Did find some opened up scrapes under the vines I hung and mocked last year. We’ll know more when we start hunting it.
