Alright guys! We are about three weeks out and I figured I would start this thread back up. The hog slaughter is back on this year and now that I’m back living and hunting the same area I have them dialed in already. Thinking we will go back to the same campground and I am taking off both weeks so I will be up there the duration of this season. I have several bone members already coming and bringing campers/rv’s. They have primitive camping, and sites with water and electric as well. There is no reservations on campsites so it’s first come first serve but if any of y’all are interested please let me know any questions or concerns you may have.

I am going to try and make it this year
I would be primitive camping if anyone would like to share a ride down from Ohio let me know

Everyone was in tents last year also. They have electric hookups so bring a long extension cord if you want power in your tent. Plan for turkey season-type weather, cool low 50s in the morning, 65-70 by noon. Bring a good pair of comfortable knee-high rubber boots as you'll spend quite a bit of time walking around sloughs and wet bottoms. The best weapon IMO is a 12ga running buckshot. Make sure you have either a GPS or Onx and if you're relying on your phone also have a battery pack. It's the kind of place where you'll get turned around 40 feet off the trail because it all starts to look the same, and it's hard to hold a consistent direction.

Looking forward to it guys! We will have three guys with rv’s this year and probably triple that in tents. Again the camp sites are first come first serve but it shouldn’t be terribly busy and I think if we plan accordingly we can obtain the sites we need! Plenty of other things to do as well if you’re into kayak fishing or going out to good restaurants as well. Very family friendly atmosphere as well!

I definitely like kayak fishing and I have a fishing kayak
Are we talking freshwater or salt?
As long as I am driving I can bring it
Flying doesn’t seem possible with camping, fishing and hunting equipment
That’s the great thing about where we are, we have a great population of redfish, black drum and sheepshead where we are going to be camping and we also have a great population of freshwater fish to catch as well. So I would definitely say both. Kinda the Florida grand slam if you will, saltwater fishing, freshwater fishing and hunting them swine lol

I also would like to get food ideas situated for the couple weeks this hunt is going to be open. I will be up for at least 8 days of this hunt and will be prepped food wise for probably 2 weeks! If anyone has any questions about camping, hunting regulations or any general questions please feel free to ask!
