2024 New Jersey Bear Hunt

@Dannmann801 and I are returning to New Jersey to black bear hunt the 3 day Muzzleloader season. Like last year Rich (fletch) will be our unofficial guide and host. Since my first phone conversation late 2022/early 2023, Rich and I have become very good friends and I would basically consider him family. Rich has worked his tail off running bait piles, trail cameras and setting stands. This year Rich has gotten us access to private property with good amount of bears. This should be a successful trip with the possibility of three bears hanging in the garage.

I run loose powder Pyrodex RS in my muzzy. Recently increased my load to 100 grains and zeroed at 100 yards. Thought I'd take it out today and see what it does at 50 yds. I'm a little over an inch high, so I can live with that. Then I tried a couple of Pellets, way out of whack.

I'm ready for Thursday.

Tuesday afternoon I left the fall gathering and went to meet John up at @Buckmaster where we left Johns truck. We drove thru the evening and made it to Rich's place about 130am. They had a beer then we slept till 830.

So, today we went out to our stand sites to familiarize, and we refreshed a baitpile. Ben hooked us up with a good bunch of apples, which we put to good use. I thought it only fair to give the bears a heads up...

John and Rich have a close relationship and jabber back and forth and bicker bicker bicker. I'm convinced that they were married in a former life; I'm just trying to figure out which was the man and which was the woman...
