You have pines near there? Usually the case when I find sheds that are darker in my experience.
CONGRATULATIONS on the great day Greg.Thats as cool as it gets when you find a set hanging on top of each other like that.
I walked over 10.5K steps on a piece I haven’t walked on yet this year and hit a corner I didn’t touch last year unfortunately and found a nice DH that apparently died of EHD last year. Critters chewed a good bit off one side but dang shame to find a slob like this. The beading around the bases were sharp and not rubbed and traces of weathered velvet was on the chewed up side. This guy had superb mass and character. Also found a year or two old broken off antler with a good bit of skull laying in the middle of a huge picked beanfield that looked to have been dropped there by a dog or yote due to the teeth marks on tips and beam.

There is a stand of white pines nearby
There is also a Christmas tree farm not to far.
Those are the darkest antlers I have found.
I found those on my property and saw him several times while hunting. Hopefully he makes it a couple more years

Got out this morning and made a 3 hour walk. Was worth it after finding this one. Could not locate the match to it.
Found a few so far but gonna wait until March gets here..saw 11 bucks holding both sides last week.
Same. We still have large majority holding here in SW Ohio.
I've got a few showing as half racks now. About as many more with both sides. One or two may have shed but it's hard to confirm in most pics. Going to wait a bit longer as well.
One more puts me up to 6 so far

Walked over 16K steps today between projects around the house and found one lil dink. Brings me up to 4 sheds so far. Finding opened up scrapes and fresh rubs still telling me a lot of sheds aren’t falling anytime soon.

Some strong genetics. Be tough to tell deer apart in low light. Hell of a day! Nice job
