@5Cent ...here's the 270 I was talking to you about at strouds. Dad got her somewhere in the 60s or 70s I think. I killed a moose (my first big game animal) with her when I was 15. Haven't taken her out of the safe since.

Sweet! I will check that one out. I somehow missed it when I went looking for where to post this one.

Tikka and sako both made some beautiful rifles in years past. Sako still makes pretty rifles but they have lost some of the styling that made then uniquely finnish. I owned a tikka 695 delux for as short time. Great rifle but i couldnt get over the odd safety so i sold it.

Living in Ohio my entire life I never owned a real rifle, just legal guns for hunting in Ohio. I had an opportunity to hunt Texas this year and my brother from Colorado GAVE me a Sako V11 270 Win, that he has owned since the 80's , What a nice gun. I removed a vintage 1980's Bushnell scope he had on it and mounted on of my Zeiss scopes with much better light capability and it is a great shooter. I did not see a deer to shoot last week but I did shoot a pig with it. I like this rifle and love my brother:D

Awesome! What are you doing with that vintage Bushnell scope? I've been looking for one to put on a 50s model Rem 760 in 30-06. I want to keep an older look to it instead of topping it with new glass.
