The more I think about it, I think I'm all in. I’m all about the easy way and trying to simplify my hunts to be the most efficient. Why wouldn’t I make this step? Range-click-send it. Why take the chance with hold over? Unnecessary risk and possibly wound an animal.

This leupold scope for a .350 is definitely appealing. I really want to get a .350... But I'm going to hold out until next year, in hopes that there will be even more rifle/platform options and more ammunition options.

I have the VX2, I think. It has the cds system and I like it really well. Shot it today just to make sure. Dialed it to 140, the distance I was shooting, and punched a hole. It’s slick.

Shoots ok. I can hit a softball at 100 with my 3 MOA Vortex red dot. I’m getting quite a few light primer strikes thus i have ordered a longer firing pin for trial. I wanted to hunt with the 350 today but I’m toting the more reliable 45/70 since I’m still packing my buck tag. All appears well...I’d do it again.

How’s everyone liking the .350? I was sold on getting a new 12 gauge for deer but now that my fiancée gave me my Christmas gift early (gift card for a new gun) I’m trying to make sure I pick the right weapon for next years season. The thought of these straight wall caliber rifles are stuck in the back of my head like a bad habit.

After some light primer strikes I swapped out the firing pin for one that’s .003 longer. My light primer strikes have improved to 1 of 10 now with Winchester ammo. No issues thus far shooting Hornaday ammo. Thus I put the 45/70 back into the safe and will try to utilize “Thumper .350” for the extended gun season.

I completed the autopsy on the deer from the shot and I never found the bullet. It came completely apart which I’m not happy about. Will be reloaded with a more stable bullet but the damage severe.. I found bullet petals in the shoulder so I have to trash it.

After finally hunting with it, I am impressed. I wouldn't recommend it for deer drives and such. But for how I hunt nowadays, it is perfect. You can do some pretty good shooting. Its fun to shoot and the entire family can use it. I recommend this if you have a wife or kids.

One deer was dead before he hit the ground. 65 yards

The other dropped from the shot but got up and did the death run for 70 yards. Good blood trail. 150 yards, both verified with range finder.
