Sad...I went to check a site I used to frequent and even be involved with back in the day.

Not sure what happened, but I sure hope this never happens around here. The video hit home.

Gonna have to have Christine follow it on FB for me or something. Even though she just told me to log back on myself.

Wonder what happened. The sad reality is social media has take a large chunk of forum traffic in just the past 5 years. As a people we are becoming increasingly lazy in our quest for information. They don't read to learn anymore. Its all quick snippets of information that they look at for 5 seconds and keep scrolling. It has also created a culture of "look at me" and a drive to self validate based on a number of likes.

Forums however can do one thing that social media groups can't. Act as an authoritative and in-depth breadth of knowledge void of the mindless drivel so often found on social media. Unlike social media you can actually search forums for content, be it on the site or via google. Search "how to build a bow string" and the first page is littered with forums and blogs. Not one facebook, or instagram result comes up. It is therefore imperative that forums start to produce quality content such as how to, diy, and other things or they will slowly see everything dwindle.

In 48 hours this journey starts. Depart from home to Indy, to Seattle, to anchorage. 16 hours of traveling with a wife and 3 kids...the joy.

Last thing on the checklist is I need to renew my DL before we leave and buy vehicle tags.
