Problem with all this warm weather is that it raises water levels as it melt the snow packs and glaciers at a high rate. Calling for 79* tomorrow (which is crazy, I only seen a few of those days is 10 years) and water levels aren’t fishable. Can’t pull a salmon out of the trees! I know a few spots that you can fish like this, but so do all the other locals. Might go brave the crowds...I’m about done with this family guy shit. 😂

Short trip as all the grandkids stayed at the house last night. I laughed and grabbed the fishing gear and truck keys. Outa here, fugg that! I knew conditions weren’t good and it’s between runs. I made sure the cooler was full of ice before leaving town...

Few people fishing and nothing really happening so I just enjoyed it for what it was and had a few beers while I ate my gas station sandwich. This morning not much changed so I just milled around checking things out. Never did wet a line and made my way back to town.

Was 5 hours of driving worth it? Sure was! Got some me and mountain time. Camped on the Kenai River and didn’t hear a single complaint.

Maybe the ODNR should recruit some of those employees
Not to turn this into another ODNR thread...but what makes you think they’re interested in such things? ADF&G actually cares about the resource and only the resource. They have basically cut off King fishing in fresh water this year because the lack of numbers. The number one reason they count fish! Once they reach said number, they will adjust accordingly. This year and prior years this has been a problem. They have learned that and have provided slot style fishing for Kings the last 5 years. People sport fishing and commercial fishing for those big ass Kings have basically harvested all the good genes out. It’s not common to see a 50 lb fish like it was 10 years ago.

Getting off my soap box...got me rambling, J!

Been laid up the last couple days...started as a stomach bug and has worked it’s way to upper respiratory. Starting tomorrow, it has no choice but to stop interrupting my plans! Zero fish caught and this trip is almost over...only 5 days left. How’d that happen? Panic mode is settling in...
