And so it begins

Nothing wrong with a little help lol. A way to a beast is the stomach and with the colder weather moving back in they will want to take advantage of any food source they can find.

Ben take the kids on a rabbit hunt and when you shoot them peal the hide head and intestines and feet while they're still warm and use them for bait as well.... I would think rabbit would work great and you can keep all the good stuff lol....

I ordered some snares and Berkshire anchors back on 12/14/13 and was shipped on 12/17/13 and received here a few days later. I finally had time to set the snares and Berkshire anchors today 12/29/13 and had an issue. One of the Berkshire anchors is now lost do to the cable coming out of the aluminum feral. After driving the Berkshire into the ground I gave a light tug to set it and the cable pulled right out and came out of the ground leaving the Berkshire in the ground. A picture can be viewed at the following link http://www.theohiooutdoors.com/showthread.php?14773-And-so-it-begins&p=304761#post304761 post #64. As you can see I have posted this on a website where I am a mod and will keep my members updated as I go along with the service. If there are any questions feel free to contact me with the provided e-mail address. Thank you very much for your time.

Had not received a reply yet so I decided to give them a call instead. Service was great and better then expected. They are shipping out another dozen Berkshire with 15" cable attached. Didn't expect that at all. Glad pcsoutdoors is taking care of the problem.

I agree Adam and J. Just save your squirrel carcases Adam and freeze them in an old soup can for later use.

My wife is getting grossed out as the days go on.

Good thing I have 3 freezers, two for me, and one for the family.

Snare Shop sent me some Iowa Earth Anchors with my snares. I haven't tried them yet. I've been using #11 wire tied to a tree for an anchor.

If your setting in the woods coat hangers work great for coon when you have a tree to fasten them to. The are cheap for me as my work clothes supplier gives us plenty. I use them to hold the snare up and anchor with.

Stupid question but I am going to ask it anyway. When you guys dispatch your live animals do you head shot them or body and why?

I head shot mine figure it will be the least noticeable or of least concern to the fur buyer. That's my thought on it but if you guys do something different I would like to hear about it and the reason why.
