Can you hunt squirrels at the same time? Meaning, guys with buck tags can take up strategic posts while the squirrel hunters still hunt strategic routes.

Yes. With a couple exceptions. Cannot possess a rifle or rifle ammunition during the muzzy season. So no .22s. But a shotgun should be ok.

Interestingly it states that you cannot possess shotshells containing shot during the November 26th to December 2nd gun season unless hunting waterfowl, but mentions nothing about bonus gun or muzzleloader

Yes Joe the regular firearms season is different regs than the others. Copied this for all to read for muzzleloader

DEER MUZZLELOADER SEASON JANUARY 5-8, 2019 All persons (except waterfowl hunters) hunting during the deer muzzleloader season are required to wear hunter orange. This includes archery hunters.

A HUNTER CAN:

1. Hunt deer, feral swine (wild boar), or coyote with a legal muzzleloader or archery equipment. Hunters must possess a valid hunting license and a valid deer permit.
2. Hunt other legal game (excluding deer, feral swine, and coyote) with shotguns using shot No. 4 or smaller.
3. Hunt waterfowl with any size shot.
4. Hunt furbearers, except coyote and feral swine, from 30 minutes after sunset to 30 minutes before sunrise if the season is open.

A HUNTER CANNOT:
1. Hunt deer, feral swine (wild boar), or coyote with anything other than a .38 caliber muzzleloading rifle or larger, or archery equipment.
2. Possess shotgun slugs or rifle cartridges while hunting.
3. Hunt deer, coyote, or feral swine (wild boar) from 30 minutes after sunset to 30 minutes before sunrise.

Interesting. Too bad I hunt squirrels with my 17hmr. Cannot hunt coyotes? Is this a new rule? I thought it was only "no night hunting coyotes" in the past?

Give me a few years to open up my schedule. Tough for me to leave during snow season unless I'm seeing 40-50 degrees and no chance of precip. 3-4+ hour drives make it tougher yet.

I’m a strong maybe leaning towards no seeing how I’m still trying to fill the freezer and don’t want to be limited to a buck during muzzy. Sucks cuz I’d love to meet up and hunt 😒 problem is I have no time to bow hunt between now and then

there’s a chance, but not enough to put me in the head count. The no doe thing kinda ruins it for me. Good luck boys! I won’t be but an hour away if another dragger or 2 is needed.

Same here, I need meat bad and the no doe thing really puts a hamper on that. I’ll be hunting not too far from there so if Lady Luck smiles on me early I may swing by
