I didn't have enough time to put it on the calendar. Someone else already has that weekend. That's the dead smack middle of busy season for us. It'll be alright, I'm still gonna make it.
With that being said, can we lock this date in for next year? Or any date? Give guys the time needed to plan?

We'll do what we can. "Time to plan" is a relative term, so my apologies for putting people out. Among all the responsibilities I carry in this world, nailing down dates for outings tends not to rank as high as others. In the past this date has been locked in sooner. However this year was "ho hum" in terms of people voicing an opinion, so I let it linger longer than necessary hoping to make as many people happy as possible. Going forward we will lock it in sooner and it'll just be what it'll be.
