So, coyotes are runners and scared of people huh? Like I said I have caught a few of them and some are wimps but you get a big alpha male cornered in his den I doubt if he is just going to roll over and let ya pet him. I have had a few snared that wanted to chew my ass and damn sure am not stupid enough to try and craw in a little hole to see what they have been up to. A better idea, kill all the fuggers and then see what they have been eating. Not gonna feel sorry for ya if they rip ya a new one but I might get your wife a tshirt made that says: I'm with stupid. LMAO

lmao

IMHO of what you will see in the den. Just 'a hole in the ground'.
I very much doubt there is any sign of deer or sheep kills inside the den. All the wolf & bear dens I've seen on TV research shows have been clean inside. Animals aren't going to eat and shit where they sleep and raise young.
Like I said just IMHO but what the hell prove me wrong. But don't get hurt trying.
I can think of other ways of getting hurt like they mentioned 'slamming my dick in a door' and I'm not doing it on purpose.

If it's currently in use it won't be for long. As soon as you start messing around with it they will be gone. Any kind of coyote deer study is dead in the water before you ever get started. If your not 100% sure all the yotes are out before you go in then your in for one helluva ride. You get one of them cornered and think your going to get that gun out to shoot you might be in for a surprise to. Ever been in a confined space like that before? I have been in spots that you could only keep moving by using your toes and digging your fingers in to pull. Not having enough room to even lift your body an inch. Good luck out there.
This is what I was saying Red cloud. They are not gonna stick around for that shit. If you want to see how many deer they drag back to the den, just run a trail can in video mode from now till August is my thinking and when the bring back the first fawn tannerite their ass lol.

I'm going to do this. I've already set my mind to doing this, ain't much turning back once I've set my mind on something. I'll post the video in a week from tomorrow. Call me whatever you want from now until then. Post pictures or videos of your encounters, it won't make me back down. I'm not scared of this. I've killed wolves, a grizzly, and multiple black bears. I've been hunted by bears and wolves, and I've always been the one to come out on top. I'm not trying to be a cocky punk about this, its just who I am. I don't back down from challenges.

I will see you all at the Strouds Run event and will be more than happy to share some campfire stories! Until then, please hold any judgement on who I am. I can promise that when this is done, any of you would be happy to call me a friend. I'm not crazy, I'm not dumb, I don't need attention. I'm a normal guy with a lot of passion, pride, and common sense.

I seriously hope that Yotehunter is right and they get out of the area once I start. Until the time comes, its all speculation and no way to tell whats going to really happen.

Emails have been sent to the local GW/WO and I'm awaiting conformation to go on with this.

Why do you have to wait on confirmation from the game warden? If your going to wait on his confirmation then you might as well count on at least 3 more generations of yotes living in that den before he gets back with you.

it's harassment of wildlife.
I don't think anybody is judging you but if your serious about doing a study on coyote predation on deer you have a great spot to start. If you go poking around your going to lose the best spot to observed it. They will move and with that take all the information you might have gained from it. I wouldn't think the yote den would be any different then any other den unless it was another critters den first. If the yote excavated it then it's nothing more then a hole. It's not like it has different rooms like a human has a house for crying out loud. I don't understand what the mystery is here to be honest. I'm not trying to change your mind and if you want to look in a hole with the possibility of getting bit then who am I to stop you. I'm just a little confused about the entire thing.

I'd probably just stick a camera by it and forget about it for a few months. But you seem dead set on crawling in there. You could get all your evidence on camera then blow it up with a den full of little ones.

I would be nervous shoving a stick in there with a go pro attached to the end, which would accomplish the same thing. Not one logical reason to stick your face in there but whatever. Good luck I guess! Lol

I am no wildlife biologist and I am not going to try to be.
If memory serves me correct, Coyotes only use dens when giving birth and raising young. That means that if this is an active den site then you are going in on a Mother protecting her pups.

Not something I would want to try.
