We made it.
With the plane being over sold it was not looking good for us. As they had offered to other guest booked on the flight $$ to give up there seat and be guaranteed the next flight. But that would not get us a seat anyhow. As they where loading the plane, the ticket lady had told me that they had one extra, and had told the few people that took them up on the money, that they would have to get on and they would not get any money, as they did not need there seats.
While all this was going on I had struck up a conversation with the lady standing next to us . None of it seamed important at the time, as we discussed the normal, who, what, when and where. She was a yuma resident, that had just happen to be coming back from Cbus, where she had been visiting her grandchildren. Of course I had explained our trip out here, and that levi would be meeting his uncle for the first time.
The time had come, all the others were getting on and there was just one extra seat. The woman at the ticket counter had told us that, sorry but better luck next time, unless I just wanted to send levi without me. I had told her that I would pass on that option. All the while , this wonderful lady that I had talked to earlier had over heard our conversation, stopped looked at the employee, and said can I still give up my seat? " yes but you will not be compensated " then she asked am I guaranteed a seat on the next? The ticket worker said that there was one seat left on the next flight, and she would be given that seat.
At that point she told the counter that she was giving up her seat and giving it up to make two seats for levi and i.
I never was able to get her name, as we had to run outside to catch the plane, but I guess it is on me now, to pass it on!
