Nice gun Sam, how old is it? That wood grain is a real show stopper there.......

Ithaca started making them in the spring of 2009, my friend got this one June of 2009. So it is exactly 2 years old. I saw the original invoice, the wood was a $500 upgrade. He offered it to me at less then 2/3 of what he paid, I didn't haggle.

Must be the Devil made me do it because I had zero intentions of buying anything this weekend. I was at Max's Flea Market and Water Dog races to sell tree stands, not to buy stuff! This one walked up to me. I specifically did NOT walk around because I knew something might jump out at me and make me buy it. I was standing there talking to Bowhunter57 when one of his friends walked up with a side by side 410 and this piece. I resisted the side x side, but I am a sucker for Colts. This one needs a little loving, but I am going to try to do a little gunsmithing myself. It doesn't lock very well. Revolver keeps revolving. lol Talked to some guys at the show and it sounds like it could be an easy fix. Probably doesn't matter for what i paid for it and for the fact I probably will never shoot it, but time will tell. Either way, a neat little piece with some Ohio history. This service pistol was carried by the Police Chief in Toledo (Larry Aubrey) for many years.

Nice little pick right there Hicks.

That third pic shows me where your problem my be in the revolving issue. Looks like the indexing has seen it's better days and a little wore out. Maybe one of the other gun nuts can help you find a new one and get it all fixed up and shooting again.

Shoulda gotten the sxs and sold it to J...he likes 410's!

Sorry Huck. Didn't know and I don't need a $500 dust collecting trailer queen. Too many of those already. lol Got a nice o/u I haven't had an opportunity to take out and shoot yet. Don't need a sxs too.

Couple things it could be Adam. You are correct though. This ol' girl has seen some rounds and lots of handling. Figured the holster was worth $20-30 no problem and I only had to give $150 for the gun/holster. I think I did alright. Might not be a "steal", but I think it was fair given it's condition. A little loving to get it in working order and it should be a $200-300 gun I think. I really don't care. I liked it. Nice piece of history with Colt on the side of it. Made me smile. Probably a better investment than my retirement account.

Still a nice Colt. I have a couple myself. (I probably would have done the same)
Enjoy! It should be a fun project.

Before I went to MAS on Saturday (Milos Archery Shop) I picked up a new carry gun for Dad. It is his B-Day present...his holster should be in shortly.

It is a Kahr .40 P series. Knife in the pic is for size reference.

Job was canceled today so I am going to go shoot it again. I tell you it is a perfect little carry gun. If I were to buy a new one it would be the Covert. Keeps the same dimensions but the grip is smaller making it more comfortable for pocket carry. This also is definantely not a range toy. After about 100 rounds I am ready for a full size gun. Very accurate especially for its size.

Well I made the drive too Canton today since the Niles Gander Mountain didn't have it in stock..... But I found an add in Sundays paper for the Savage Model 220 for 419.99 I called Canton Gander and they said bring the add and they'd match it.... So one of my sons buddies was off today and he went with me.... I had some gift cards from family and friends and I walked out the door with 15.98 still on one of the cards..... Their advertised price was 499.99 on it.... So now all i have too do is save for a few weeks and I should have my leupold 2x7 attatched too it..... Can't wait to shoot it in......
