At 1:25 it really shows him demonstrating the technique.

I REALLY like the accuracy of the "Smalthers"....the 99's that is. Very accurate handguns in general.

Tell you what, I don't know what that video he mentioned is about, but if it is pointers from Jerry about what he is doing in the videos. . . . makes me want to buy it! That dude is fast and smooth! Doesn't hold those titles for being a hack.

HAHAHA, and to think I've spent the last 35 years worry about cant

Yes the 99 shoots good. It's very ambidextrous in it's operation too. You read some online that dislike the trigger but I haven't had an issue with it.

Thought I would try it and love it now. So fast on target close with the ability for more precise longer shots. 50 yards and in I use the RDS and scope it longer. I am no Jerry but I am getting faster.

I have twice but never with this rifle. I need to get a new shotgun to be competitive which I am not TOO worried about. I just go to have fun. I will make this my main yote gun soon I bet. Sometimes we get some sneakers that get in close and the RDS will be perfect for that.

I picked up a late model Swiss K31. I found this one at a gun show for $190. The wood is a little rough but the bore is beautiful and all the metal is free of rust. This is my second straight pull bolt gun. The K31's bolt stroke is much smoother and faster than my M1895 Steyr Mannlicher. This K31 is living up to its reputation as a super accurite military rifle. Now I just need to find a decent Ross to fill my straight pull bolt action collection.

Beener,
I have 3 Swiss, an 1889 and 2 k31s. They are probably the finest quality military rifles you'll ever find. Made by Sig and Hamerli. Action works very slick, reminds me of how an AR bolt works when you pull the charging handle.

I have a huge gap in my relic/military firearms knowledge/use from WWII and back. Know enough to get along and can probably name most....but not much about them.

Camp Perry has a vintage military rifle shoot during CMP week. Bolt action rifles from WWI & II are eligible. Swiss K31's and Swedish Mausers dominate the competition with the edge going to the K31 because of the speed in the rapid string.

There is an old joke about WWI rifles. The German's used a hunting rifle(Mauser) the Americans used a target rifle(Springfield) and the English used a fighting rifle(Enfield)

I used to shoot in the CMP vintage surplus rifle shoot with a Lithgow, Austrailia made Lee Enfield No 1 Mark 3. It had a pretty fast bolt stroke too.
I wish American gun makers would ofter a hunting rifle in 6.5X55 Swede that is a great round. I've thought about selling my model 700 in .270 and getting a CZ 550 in 6.5x55.
