You can't let it take over your life.... You learn and move on hoping too never repeat the same mistake....

It happened January 3rd of last year and we went on our honeymoon May 5th in Roatan. To say it didn't take a man up gut check to get in the water and snorkle out 300 yards from shore would be a lie. I struggled with it for a while, and Jessica's dad still gets a little choked up if it comes up. We all had a different situations to deal with that day and the emotions weren't the same for each of us. For me it was a fight for life. For him it was a fight to save his daughters fiancée. I had to deal with a high probability of death, he had to deal with that and the thought of the things that come afterwards like telling his daughter, a life of feeling like he could have done more, regret etc. It was actually more traumatizing and took longer for him than it did me. We can joke about it now but it's still an emotional subject if we dwell on it past that. Needless to say I have a pretty tight bond with my FIL and nephew. But you're right, you can't dwell on it and let it consume you. Learn from it and move on. I can say it humbled me considerably, especially in mother nature. That bitch doesn't care if you live or die, and all it takes is a one simple oversight for shit to get bad in a hurry.

I added a rare Mauser Trainer in 22LR to my Trainer collection today. Made by FN in Belgian in 1952 on a 1898 full size action but the action is solid and not cut out for the magazine well. Made for the Belgian Navy and thought less than 1000 produced. This makes 4 1898 Mauser converted to 22LR. in my collection. Good solid investments.
Pictures later.

A link showing the rifle, it's the gray colored one. I have a friend who has the black one for the Army. Already have the Israel one.http://www.milsurps.com/showthread.php?t=39793

My wife finally committed to taking her CCW with me and my parents/sister/buddy. I'm holding a S&W 642 revolver for Cotty and she liked it for it's size and simplicity. We went to the local shop to check them out and ran in to a guy who said he'd make me a deal on a Lady Smith. His wife had one, but he bought her a LCP and she was considering selling the LS. He called tonight and said he'd let the gun, extra grip, holster, 6 dummy rounds for dry fire practice, 150 rounds of target and 50 rounds of self defense ammo go for $300.

I can see me throwing this in the pocket of my cargo shorts in the summer!

That was a bargain. Should have been $350 minimum with all the extras. Go to a gun show and you would be lucky to find one under four bills.

a big yes to a contender with a hornet barrel. I have a 10". No problem wacking bowling pins at 100 yards. Actually fairly cheap to reload once you find the brass. I was at a auto swap meet last summer and found a large pickle jar of hornet brass for $5. Over 400 empties.

That's what I told Tracie. Said even if by some chance she doesn't like the gun (which isn't happening) I could make $50 on the deal. Honestly, I'd like to have this as our bedroom gun. Nothing to think about other than pull the trigger. Not to mention it's a very concealable weapon. I may pick up an ankle holster for myself to carry it on occasion.

I reload for it and found out that once fired brass and moving the bullet close to the rifling makes it super accurate. 40 grain hornady hornet bullets and 1680 powder is what I use.
