Been working on my 6.5 grendel where did you pick up your parts yo build it
Are you near Ashland and how do you head space yours I have a Areo lower and a Anderson also building a 5.56 on the Anderson but want a 18" or longer SS spiral fluted barrel wit 1:7 TWIST the 6.5 not sure what direction to go with I personally don't know anyone that has done the mill work did you buy the jig and my buddy just ordered a kit from P.S.A in 5.56 now he just needs the lower and he will have everythingAnderson lower from when Fin had them on sale for $39.00, most of rest of the parts are from Palmetto State Armory. I’ll admit I did this did this on the cheap, we will see how it runs.
I built 2 rifles last winter on 80% lowers that I milled. For a pistol I decided to use a finished and serial numbered lower that I purchased new so there’s zero doubt it’s legal.
Quick question from the less informed: what makes that an AR pistol? Barrel length???
Ok first you can NOT make a pistol out of a rifle. You must buy a factory made pistol or buy a new lower receiver and build one. A pistol can’t have a stock, the first pistols just had a plain buffer tube then rubber or foam covered tube. This has a shockwave blade or you could use a Sig brace. A pistol can have a barrel longer than 16” but not sure why you’d do that. This has a 10.5” barrel.
If you have a gun with a stock and a rifled barrel less than 16 inches or an overall length less than 26” it’s a “short barreled rifle” and comes under NFA rules.
Way too many regulations for something that should be a fun shooting gun. All infractions come under felonies as well, correct?
Yes, so much for “shall not be infringed” But if you start new there’s no worries. I also didn’t use one of my 80% lowers just so there’s no chance of a misunderstanding. Maybe later in the week we can get together and shoot it some.

Actually the ATF ruled that shouldering an arm brace does not change the intended use of the brace or make it a rifle. In other words you are not shouldering a rifle but rather using a pistols arm brace incorrectly.Don't you dare shoulder that pistol.
