As my wife says...Gun Porn!

How do you intend to use it? Is it .223? I'd think knowing you it will be a coyote gun? If so, I would scope it with as much glass as I could justify for intended purpose.

It's a 5.56 just so I could shoot both the 5.56 and .223 depending on the local availability. Most likely a yote gun but I also have a bolt action .223 for that purpose. Guess you can never have to many options lol.

Went. Out to the Lead Shed in wauseon. Talk about a great bunch of guys!

Got the scope in yesterday and had time to mount it this morning. A little more then I was expecting and will need to mess with it a bit to get it where I need and want it on the rail so I can still get to the charging handle. I will most likely be removing the 3" sunshade as well.

Looks good Adam, but why did you mount it on an extra rail attached to the receiver's rail? Maybe keep your eye out for a deal on a cantilever style mount. That would get it up and out of the way of the charging handle. A wider charging handle helps too.

The scope bell was still hitting the rail when I tried to mount it even with high rings so I just got the rail adapter. After getting everything on I am probably going to look for the cantilever mount so I can get to the charging handle easier.

Ruger American .450 Bushmaster
Vortex Crossfire 2-7x32
Burris Steel Rings
Hornady Black 250 grain FTX

Just have to bore sight and then to the range when it gets a little warmer out. I looked at both the Hawke and Vortex 2-7x32 and the Vortex glass was a little cleaner at and past 100 yards. The reticle on the Hawke was a little cleaner but the Vortex Crossfire got the nod. Looking forward to zeroing this baby in.

Adam, gun looks sweet buddy, good luck with your range time...

That's a dandy J. Should be a shooter for Ghogs for sure. Can't wait to see the range pics and the Ghog pics.

Hope I can get time this weekend to go fling a few rounds down range.

Ahhh gotcha. That makes sense. I didn't even think of that.

Nice .450 J!!!
