I just noticed, I never updated Kody's performance in the tournaments for his all-star team.

Let's just say, I'm one proud papa. Kody not only proved that he deserved to be on the team, but he was one of the team leaders. He caught every game, not every inning, but most innings in every game. He batted either 3rd or 4th in the lineup and was the largest run producer with at least 1 hit every game and he hit 4 home runs and 6 doubles in 3 tournaments. It just clicked for him this year. I wish you guys could've witnessed where he was last year to what he did this year. A complete 180. He always showed the potential, but he finally grew into his swing.

I am very excited to see what he becomes as he gets stronger.

Ah, the baseball thread is back to the top.

We finished the season 11-2. Not too bad for our first season. Our two loses came from playing an older, more talented team.

My son is five. The league commissioner would like him to move up to play with the 7 & 8 year olds next year in order to better challenge his skill set. I feel blessed that he has much talent.

So after football season we will be practicing baseball in my basement to keep his baseball skills sharp.

He's now a tackle on the pee wee football team and I'm one of the coaches (so hunting season will be delayed for me this year). He begins Kindergarten here in two weeks. His heart is in baseball as a couple of these pictures simulate.

Holy smokes! What a race in the NL Central. My Buccos are hanging on for dear life and the Reds are surging after taking 3 of 4 from the Cards. This one appears to be going down to the wire. The Pirates travel to St. Lou for 3 starting tonight. I'm loving this. For the first time in 20 years September matters to me in baseball. The last 20 years I've spent September watching Pirate cast-offs play in playoff games for other teams or watching September call ups flounder in the Pirate lineup. I'm just living in the moment of a pennant race right now.

And yes, I have my playoff tickets already. I'm one section behind those club seats you see on TV. I sure hope I get to use them! My plan is to attend at least one game per series and sell the rest and make a little money. If they don't make it, I get refunded. We shall see...

My 9 year old son Allen made his pitching debut yesterday for his fall Little League team. We had to laugh because he was so calm, cool and serious on the mound. First kid he struck out, second batter grounded out to 2nd and he struck the third out for the first and only 1, 2 & 3 inning in their double header!! The second inning he ended up with 2 strike outs and a couple walks but he kept his cool and stepped up to shut them down. LOL I love this shit!!

Good deal, Chuck.

This pennant race is eating me up! The Reds are hot. The Cards just beat the Pirates to a pulp. Now the Pirates go to Texas for 3 and the Reds play the Cubs. Things are looking good for the Reds and not so good for my Buccos.

Good stuff chuck!

Cottis, you know it's coming down to a one game playoff between the Reds and the Bucs and I can't wait!!!!! They'll probably be in your backyard.

It's looking that way, unless Washington and Arizona continue to close the gap. If it's in my backyard, I'm there! My ticket will be in hand in a few days. Since that might be the only post season game they have, I'm going. Lol

Just received a phone call from the new AD at my HS alma mater where I coached JV baseball this spring. She asked if I wanted to apply for the newly vacated varsity baseball head coaching position. Some major decisions to be made on my part before I even apply. It's a huge undertaking, but was a goal I set a few years back. Going to be an interesting few days around here!
