Yep, like the others said Jesse be the better man. You are young yet, some day that train may come back to town.

On a bright side, my son has his first practice for Fall Ball, playing on the 12U local Little League as a 10 year old. Think he will learn fast.

Looks like my Red Sox are going to trade Jon Lester before tomorrow's deadline. I hate to see him go but if he's going to leave anyway at the end of the year might as well get something for him. Cotty, I'm hearing your Pirates are in the running. Bet you'd like to see him in a Bucs uniform.

Yeah, but I'd hate to give up too much for a rental. Lester will be back in Boston next year.
I did see that two top prospects that I'm worried about are in the lineup in Altoona today, so that makes me feel better.
I wouldn't be shocked to see Alvarez traded. I hope not though. He's struggling but his potential is unreal.

I don't think Lester will be back. Boston won't pay him anywhere near what he can get on the open market. Long term deals for players over 30 never work out.

I know one team that won't pay him: Pittsburgh. They're better off dealing for Price from TB since he is signed through next year. At least you get another year out of him. Lester would be a two month rental.

Pisses me off about Alvarez too. He's struggling, and now riding the pine. They need to play him and let him work through his issues or move him to first. He has so much potential. But, they'll trade him and he will flourish else wager like Aramis Ramirez and Jose Baitista did.

Wow. Big changes in Boston. Peavey, Lester and Lackey gone. Those 3 started World Series games last year. Picking up Cespedes from Oakland is a surprise. Never thought the A's would part with him.

And the Buccos did nothing. I have mixed feelings. There are some guys coming up that are touted as can't miss guys. We shall see. In order to land Price I think it was gonna take a few of these prospects. I'm excited to see what they become but hate being only 1/2 game out and not trying to get better. Tough spot. Don't wanna sell the farm but good chance to win now!

The reds piss me off. No effort and getting 1 hit by average pitchers. I stopped watching so I didn't have to buy a new flat screen

For all you baseball guys out who are you rooting for to win the World Series this year? Being from New England I'm a Red Sox and of course their season was basically over before it started. I actually like all 4 teams in it right now. I especially like having the Royals and Orioles in the there. Reminds me of when I was kid and those teams were loaded with guys like Cal Ripken, Eddie Murray, George Brett, Dan Quisenberry, etc.. I could probably name each team's starting lineup from back then if I really thought about it. I think as a fan I'm pulling for the Royals since they haven't made it this far since 1985. As a coach I do like to watch Buck Showalter manage a game. He's never afraid to go against conventional wisdom and I love that. Bottom line I guess I'm rooting for the American League this year.

I'm done rooting for anyone. I could care less about MLB these days. I do enjoy watching the Chillicothe Paints, however. Those kids still want to play ball.

Mason just finished up this past weekend. If it were up to him, they would be playing baseball right on through winter.

I'm with ya AJ. I used to know all those lineups from the 80's.

My Buccos were a victim to Bumgarner stellar performance and got knocked out in the WC game after a great season.

I've only watched one game since. If I do watch I'll pull for Kc and anyone but the Cards.

Addison's travel team finished runner up in the Pitch For A Cure softball tournament this weekend. We were the #1 seed going into today and got beat by a team that we beat yesterday in the championship game. I'm very proud of the Lancaster Kaos 8u!!

Unfortunately there were no deer harmed by my 7 yr old Addy this weekend due to softball tourney, lol. We never had time to get out!

(Addy is in the front row with the white socks)

....so my 6 year old son comes down to the basement last night before bed......

He asks, "Dad, What are doing down here?"
I replied, "I'm picking up in the basement, doing some cleaning, and looking for my hunting stuff."
Son replies, "Yeah Dad, you need to clean up your junk in our basement so I can practice baseball. If I start practicing now....by the time the season comes around I'll be a "Star"".
I replied, "I know Son, that's why I'm cleaning it. Just give Daddy a few more days to clean it all up then you and I can begin practicing baseball down here."
