sounds like your son has been bitten with the baseball bug!

Anything sports related actually.

Any given morning upon wake up guess what's on TV at our house?

No, it's not Cartoons.....it's ESPN SportsCenter.

He went from being addicted to cars and trucks as a 4 year old to a sports freak at 5. It happened overnight once he found out what the word "Competition" meant.

The boys spews more Sports statistics than a Stock broker does referencing his daily work with the DOW JONES INDUSTRIAL AVERAGE. Might I add my son has 2 online fantasy football teams....the kid is a nut!

We begin basketball this Saturday at our local YMCA. This will be his first session but he's been shooting his 7 foot hoop in our "living room" for the past 2 years now. Thank God for our 12 foot ceilings. I think he'll do well.

Good stuff, Ben! We are in the process right now of online shopping for Christmas. Dang near everything we have picked out for Mason is baseball related, that's what he wants. They started basketball practices last week, he seems to enjoy it but I think baseball is his thing.

BTW, we have watched the first two games of the World Series... I haven't done that in years. He is a bad influence on me, and like your son, he rattles of the stats of every pitcher to hit the mound...

Tis the season...basketball finished up this past Saturday.

My daughter has her first softball practice Weds in the gym.

In terms of baseball I worked the HotStove signup booth this past Saturday, we signed up about 50....two more signups to go.

Today we had indoor practice signups and I drew Saturday afternoon. Not bad.

Our draft is March 15 so I'll have most of my former team after that.

I coach 7 year old coach pitch this year and have confirmed.....three out of my four All Stars will be back this year (my son, as well as two of my other coaches's sons which are on my staff).

Two more decent players and our infield is rounded out very well.

I began building this team last year as we played as 6 year olds in a 7-8 division, we finished 5-13 with a tournament win. I expect better than .500 this year, next year...you should be hearing about us.

We'll see how it goes in 2015.

Just got home from Addy ' s softball practice. We have been practicing 2 times a week since August. Can't wait for good weather so we can get back outside! Rec ball starts next month and our first travel tourney is the beginning of May. Andrew is playing on 2 teams also so we really don't have an off season! Looking forward to it!!

Just saw this topic and read the first post, didn't know you were the head baseball coach for IC. I played for New Philadelphia from 01 to 04, and I do believe we played your team a few times. If my memory serves me correct I think we played down there, was windy as hell, and split a double header. Our head coach was Rich Grimm.

How about those Red Legs?!?

Hamilton and Byrd with Web Gems. Cueto looked great. Hamilton with a clutch steal that ended up not mattering after Mr. Frazier went yard! Then the Cuban Flame Thrower came in and burnt through the Pirates like hot steal through butter. What a way to start!!!

We had a good baseball practice indoors last night. We're looking a lot better than last year. No dead weight this year. Our infield will be solid with 3 All Stars at the pitcher's mound, shortstop, and first base. We have enough decent players to plug in at second and third to get the job done.

Softball practice...tomorrow night.

Had our first game of the season postponed until Thursday. This is the worst spring I've had in my 3 years of coaching high school baseball. Our field won't be ready for at least another week. We've been in the gym for 19 straight practices and will be on a soccer field tomorrow and Wednesday for our first outdoor practices. Id like at least one season where our first time on a baseball field is not our first game. Oh well, baseball in New England I guess.

Been awhile since I've updated in here. My sons are both in pony ball and their season just started. Both are making me proud.
My daughter is In coach pitch and she smiles the whole game.

My high school team is currently 10-9 and we've won 6 of our last 8. Hopefully we are getting hot at the right time.

On a personal note, my brother (my assistant) and I reached a milestone last night.

My son Allen's travel 10U team just had their first game of the season last night. He was exhausted after getting back from his 5th grade camp but with 11 players he definitely could not miss. He played in RF for the beginning of the game then came in to relieve for pitching in the 4th inning and pitched through the 6th. inning when they won due to mercy 16-6.

My daughter Jenna has been playing HS softball for a couple weeks now and has been doing pretty good this year. Originally they had her at SS but now she's out in RF. Kind of in a little hitting slump, not that she's not hitting but it's the how hard and where.
