BATFE attempting to ban a common ar15 ammo

Im kind off tired of the bs that these rifles and caliber brings to my shooting life. Ammo absent from shelves, bans, ect. On top of that the people that are just getting into shooting and the tacitcool crowd irritate me from time to time. Secondly the older wood and blued steel guns have been looking more attractive to my eye lately. Im thinking of selling my two ARs and rem 700 police for other guns chambered in less common rounds. Ive always wanted a high end 7x57mm hunting rifle. I have my eye on an older citori 20 ga / 28 ga combo. I also wouldnt mind a 22-250 or a 220 swift. Ill still support the right for other people to own them but my firearms interests are evolving else where.

I was in a Wally world today that had cci mini mag 22hps in the locked cabinet at $7.37 per hundred. I have too big a pile so left them for somebody else to discover.

Stop and think a little bit, kids under 18 get a head start learning to shoot an AR owned by dad and it may just help point them to a career in the US Military. My son probably shot one of my ar's when he was 10 years old. He happens to be a Major now.
 
The governments worst fears is the populace having a common weapon platform. Especially one with interchangeable parts and cheap availability of ammunition. To them they see it as a battle rifle. Every organized military force in the world had a standard caliber. For our military thats predominately the 5.56 and 9mm. If an uprising happens it's far easier to quell if the weapons being used are all over the map with caliber and type. It's even a bigger concern because they themselves use the same caliber and weapon type. This means if an armed populace goes on the offensive, captured weapons, ammunition, and parts will work in the populaces weapon platform. It also makes it easier for those bands of gorillas to share mags, optics, accessories and parts. A large group of gorillas with a standard weapon platform can stay in the fight far longer than a group with rag tag weapons, ammunition, and parts. In a firefight if you have a 7mm mag and the guy beside you a 45-70. If he runs out of ammo he can't grab a mag from you and stay in the fight. Thats a weapon down and a man out. If his gun malfunctions he can't pick up his dead buddies and continue using his own mags and ammo. They're scared of it for tactical reasons. It's not that the country is getting ready for armed conflict against their government. But by happenstance we're standardizing on a common weapon platform, the only thing they can do right now to stop it is hamper the availability of ammo. They tried the guns, they tried the mags, they're now trying the ammo.
 
Just chaps my ass when dumb shit causes a run on ammo. It's a different world since Sandy Hook - can't get any fucking .22lr.
How fucking stupid is that? Now there's a run on 5.56? I just bought it a while back for $369/1000 of the swedish shit at AIM....now it's $429 and out of stock?
What the actual fuck?

Fuck these agencies that make rules where they shouldn't.
 
As if .22 ammo is going to save the free world. I don't get why it's still hard to find.
 
Most of your standard round ball .22 ammo goes right through soft body armor. It'll stop 9mm at point blank, but a .22 will go through it like butter.

It's scared hoarders buying the 22LR ammo up. The typical 22LR buyer in the past would buy 1-2 boxes of 50 rounds per year are now buying 1000-10,000 rounds when they can find them. Makes no sense. But if you are a seller at market price (60-65) per brick of 500 it does put good cash in the bank.
 
Really? I had a CCI Standard Velocity fail to penetrate a squirrel's thigh bone at 30 yards. I still have the projectile somewhere. I admittedly don't know much about ballistics.
