Best and worst....

are we talkin hair bands or rock bands?

best rock band of the 80s hands down, Metallica. I mean c'mon, They also made it through the next two decades putting out great music, which theyare still doing today, But they are also the only modern age rock band to get to the rock hall of fame.

Best hair band of the 80s, Motley crue. Nobody gives the ugly guy from that band any credit, but mick mars could shred.

worst of the 80s.... .... jeezz... where do you begin?...

...after consulting with my wife, we agree that winger would be the worst band that got any kind of notariety. there were some truly lame 80s bands that most people never heard of. But everybody knew who winger was and as far as I know everone thought they sucked.

I think I was in to Billy Ray Cyrus in the 80's... :smiley_crocodile:

That explains a lot! :D

Pantera was one of the wildest show I was ever at. I can remember the first CD I ever got of theirs. I had never heard of them bit bought it just because of a song called fuggin hostile. Oh many I need to go to you tube for a while.

That's the best part, it just escalates into an all out barrage of info! Haha...

I would consider Metallica a metal band until the Justice album then they got kinda mainstream rock and lame...still an awesome band but a lot o what they did before got left behind.

Rock bands is kind of a general topic, so many groups lumped into "rock". Hell RATT is listed as 80's metal!!!??

No argument from me on the AC/DC either.... Jailbreak, long way to the top, dirty deeds are definite playlist additions!

Pantera was definitely in a league of their own. They just plain rocked. Hostile was a great tune!

Cotty- You cracked me up with the Bon Jovi nod.

Just curious why some or most of y'all don't like Bon Jovi. Yeah, Mike is spot on about getting laid but they had more than just a few good songs. "I'm a cowboy", and "Blaze of Glory" were blared through my stereo speakers a few times back in the day.lol

It's not that I don't like them. I have their music. It's just they weren't one that you could jam at a redlight in high school. I guess their rep wasn't manly enough. Still a grwat band that has stuck with it for all these years. They deserve credit for that for sure.
I guess you could say they are a guilty pleasure band.

If we can switch genres for a second like Beener and a few others have, you can't forget the jam by Sir Mix Alot "My Posse on Broadway".

Me and Kid Sensation, at home away from home, in the black Benz limo with the cellular phone. A freak in each sunroof to keep you suckers trippin.

You guys are bringin' back some great memories!

Best- GNR, Metallica, Van Halen, Motley Crue

Worst- Warrant, Stryper...never got the Iron Maiden thing either.
