Best Concert............

Living in ft loramie and growing up a few miles from Country Concert at hickory hills ill have to give them a nod for a few dun weekends. Started going when i was 16 and had a blast almost every year ive gone... ive seen a lot of big names out there(Neil Mccoy, Eric Church, Kenny Chesney, Carrie Underwood, Hank Williams Jr...) but the best concert i have been Too is hands down Grath Brooks. I went there with my brother and sister in law and a couple of friends. Even tho we may have had possibly the absolute worst seats possible is was amazing. Everything from the songs to the energy of the arena to the showmanship that Garth showed was top notch. I would definitely go back to see him.
A close second tho would have to be Randy Houser. I went to a bar in North Carolina while visiting a buddy in the Marines and he went there that night. He didnt go to sing but to just be there. Turned out that a lot of people knew him and someone gave him a guitar and he started playing. It was sweet being within a couple of feet from him and actually hearing HIM sing... not the autotune bs.

Exactly how I felt about seeing Garth live.

Country Concert- There has been some awesome energy at some of those shows as well. Pretty crazy stuff at times. I went once and it was quite an experience. It isn't a good idea to go there with your wife. Err. . .What I mean is- Don't go if you are married. lmao

Carrie Underwood was the first concert we took our daughter to. Worst seats ever. Even so, her energy and vocals while performing were very impressive. I wasn't really a fan prior, but hearing her in concert gave me a new respect for her talent. The fact she is stupid hot certainly helps.

Yea Garth's show was incredible. The music and vocals were excellent, but it was the performance itself that made it memorable. He's about as good as entertainment gets IMO.

Metal church. I may well have flogged you a time or two! I was within feet of the stage too! There was a chic that stabbed my buddy a couple of times with a needle or something. In all that mess I heard him say, "bitch, I told you to quit stabbing me"! About then, he turned loose and punched her right in the beak! Haha. She's probably an old grandma now, but she has a good story to tell. The dude with her did nothing for her... I accidentally called a female state trooper some inappropriate names as we headed back to our cars after the show. She was very nice once I realized my mistake. I'll always remember how the troopers paid NO attention to the thousands of small offenses they witnessed at that venue.

ho lee shit! pretty scary that we were bangin' our heads together 20 some years ago, and here we are today. back then, you could still have fun. controlled chaos was still allowed. June 28, 1992. I still have my ticket stub, although I have no idea why. Danzig opened for them in 94 or 95 when I saw them at Polaris/Germane Amphitheater.

98' or 99' I went to a Korn concert in Detroit, Kid Rock opened up for them and ICP did the after party. I remember bits and pieces of that night...I think I had a lot of fun?! Lol

00' I went to a George Strait festival and that was a blast.

Damn Ric, I'm pretty jealous that you got to see Waylon play!

Chad, I've seen Waylon at several concerts! The first time was in Charleston when he played with the original Cricket Band in the late 70's, 1977 I think!

Back in the time everyone had Waylon's Greatest hits on 8 track! Lol

Lucky fugger! He's probably my favorite singer. I have him playing right now!

I went to the George Straight concert at the Horseshoe. Can't remember what year but it was before my wife. Had to be 96-97-98 sometime. Probably around 97. Kentucky Head Hunters, Pirates of the Caribbean. Diamond Rio (I think), John Michael Montgomery, Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, and probably half a dozen others. Pretty darn good show.

You sure you don't mean Pirates of the Mississippi? :smiley_crocodile:

POM is a very good band IMO.

Man I am jealous of all the shows you guys have seen. I have only been to a handful in my life. My favorite was The Deftones at the House of Blues in Myrtle. The most fun was my senior year of high school at The Up in Smoke Tour. Snoop, Dre, Nate Dogg, Emimen etc. at Gund Arena.

Best rock concert? Hard to beat the first time I saw Guns N' Roses in 1988. I was in the 8th grade and was blown away. They opened for Aerosmith on their Permanent Vacation tour. Sweet Child had just come out after Welcome to the Jungle already had kicked the doors in. Just an amazing show. Didn't even really care about Aerosmith after seeing Guns.

Then in 92 saw GNR and Metallica at Three Rivers Stadium in the 4th row. Friggin amazing!!!!

In total, I've seen Guns (or some form of them) 4 times and Metallica 6.

Best country concert? Hard to beat Eric Church live. I've seen him open and headline. He's fantastic live.

I can't imagine seeing GNR and Metallica in their prime. Had to of been unbelievable!

I'm very lucky to have grown up in an era of great music. Not only was I into great classic rock like Zep and Pink Floyd, but the stuff that was out was instant classic as well.

My only regret is not being into country at the time. Wish I was more well rounded in that department. The cool thing is, some of the old stuff is new to me and keeps it fresh.

Ric got to see Waylon? Damn!
